  1. im probably chancing my arm here, especially knowing how protective i am of my pike spots but was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of a good mackerel spot in northern ireland? i was just going to use my spinning rod or maybe the deadbait rod with feathers if there far out? ive never sea fished in my life and a few mackerel on the bbq with a cold cider would go down a treat thanks
  2. what knot do you use yourself for joining the line, 6-5-4 is that with or without a shop bought tippet? what sort of lengths does everybody use, 9ft or more/less?

  6. ive been struggling the last couple of times ive been out, i was using shop bought tippets but they where costing me a fortune, then a fella tied me up a rig couple weeks back which was my tippet tied to a length of 'airflo' (unsure of breaking strain) then a large dry then another 8" a buzzer (had a brilliant couple of hours with 5 fish and no tangles or wind knots) i bought some airflo in 5lb breaking strain and replicated the rig and have a complete disaster the last two times ive been out! the rod was f****d into the next field last night lol! where am i going wrong? another issue

  10. bumping this topic as ive just read that theres a couple of lads that do greyhound runs back and forth from ireland/uk and provide a good cheap service for working dogs too cheers

Hows it going lads, myself and my dad are looking a lurcher to bring on together, ive never kept a running dog before but my dad did back 20 odd years ago when i was a young lad, basically we dont no anyone who keeps lurchers and are very wary of pups on gumtree/donedeal as it would be hard to prove both parents where workers, we'd like to get a young dog so as to bond with it and train it ourselves. We have permission on a couple of different farms with all game from rabbit to falllow and everything in between, basically a potfiller is what we're after- foxes arent a priority but if theres a
