  1. Did your Kennels feed different foods than you normally use ? Dogs can sometimes have reactions to cereal/grain based complete foods... possibly hormone imbalance with her coming in season ... there are (reputedly) some Spaniel lines which carry a Epileptic Gene. There are countless theories behind the causes along with the medications to control the seizures/fits Hopefully its nothing to worry about as it may well never happen again. Jangles
  2. Train the youngster on its own ... the pup will just chase after your older dog and put it off its hunting. Get the pup concentrating on you and not its kennel mate. Once your pup is trained then you could work one at a time with the other at heel. Jangles
  3. All the above is good advice ... Its all in the TRAINING Jangles

  5. That'll be great when it brings back a runner and drops it 2 feet in front of you. I've never understood this 'drop' tactic. Should never be done. Why not sit down and try with a ball, don't throw it far. Lie down when the dog is returning if you have to. You can gradually stand up when the dog is more confident around you. Casso has pretty much said it already. Had many a chuckle with a Gun/Host who used the 'drop' technique .. went something like this : Fetch eet .... drop eet ... fetch eet ! .... drop eet ... fetch eet ! Lab ... you vont a sossage Jangles
  6. Fabio ..... I would continue to feed the pup on whatever it was fed on before you brought it home ... a complete puppy food using quality ingredients to promote bone growth etc (comes with extra protein/fat/ash/oils added). Then gradually introduce the RAW food after about 6 months ... chicken carcasses/wings/lamb ribs etc. Feeding RAW will not make your dog hard mouthed. Jangles
  7. If you do intend to breed be aware that The Kennel Club will NOT register any pups from Mother/Son .... Father/Daughter....Sibling matings. Best go to a health checked and proven Sire. Doesn't have to be a FTCH either Jangles

  9. It can be 'kicked in' on the move at slow speeds...... just press the button and it will show as a green light on your dashboard. Go out and try it on a steep slope. To disable it press the button again and it will dis-engage after you reach 15mph. Jangles

  12. Drakeshead Kennels have been instrumental in developing the Labrador for Field Trials with unrivalled success in years gone by. Levenghyl Labradors have now emerged over the past 10 years as the top Trialling Kennels in the UK.... 6 Levenghyl dogs competed at the 2009 IGL Championship. http://levenghyllabradors.co.uk/about/levenghyl-labradors/ A good dog is never a bad colour either ... but give the Chocolates a wide berth Jangles

  19. The pups were born on the 16th Feb ..... so the Dam would have been covered by him on or about the 7th December '13 making him 9 months old at the time. He has an outstanding Trialling pedigree so perhaps the owners can foresee a great potential in him and are getting his youngsters on the go quickly. Jangles

If you log on to www.mykc.org.uk then register a user name (and password)...from the home page you can navigate to any breed of dog (under Tools and Resources) then type in the KC registered name of that dog .... you are able to look up any health checks/siblings/progeny and pedigree of the dog you are interested in. It also will tell you if the dog has Stud Book number which means it has gained a FT Award or if its a FTCH. Its a very informative and sometimes addictive site Jangles
