  1. with that stock on my hw100 I cant resist the XXX rated gunporn! just been rubbing it down with an oiley rag, aswell as the 77 and the 98 once a week wipe down (and when they get home from a shooting trip) keeps them looking tiptop and nice and shiney. hope we will meet up at the THL spring meet bigmac mate
  2. . :angry2: :boxing: No hard feelings Mac matey??, you know when its time to bow down to a better hunter hope the weather is kind towards the end of the week got a new Hawke sports HD 3-9x50 AO coming to mount on the hw77k, then need to do a bit of plinking and find a pellet that suits her and I will be off to get her some bloody kills hopefully. about time too ive had her ages and only taken her out once my hand is feeling a bit stronger now, and I recon if I sit and wait then I might get something, just hope its not too cold il have to wrap up warm Well good luck mateI
  3. the panorama with the half mildot is an excellent scope. very fine ret and not as 'cluttered' as the scb never tried the varmint so cant comment on that. hope this helps
  4. that's a beech lightning xl mate, not sure if its a SE model.? they come in spring or 'GRT' gas ram technology variants aswell £150 sounds good if there is a scope and bag included. the trigger can be heavy on these, I don't like that personally but some people do. I had one of these last year, in .177 .. it was an 'ok' gun pretty accurate enough about 1-1.5 inch groups at 40 yards. it was underpowered tho from brand new making 8-9 ft lbs from brand new it kept me on until I could afford a hw97 tho, then it went on a trade-in
  5. I believe the 42mm is the diameter of the scope cap diagram ah fair enough, I have never tried to print my own scope cap thingys off as I don't have a printer haha

  7. good advice timmy I got knocked back at a local farm last year but im going to go back down sometime this week and ask again, hopefully he will let me shoot the pigeons in his sheds, I just hope having the cattle in there wont put him off the idea. if not the pigeons he might let me at the rabbits if he wants to have a chat about it first I have plenty of photos of my guns with various dead vermin next to them hehe
  8. nice one bugg mate bet your glad you got it now eh! lovely rifles them s410's I had one a few years back would have another anyday shame the stealth put you off a bit but at least now you know not all PCP's are rubbish
  9. nice one BIG TOM you should have taken mac with you it appears he has forgot how to shoot live quarry
  10. rabbits, hit them in the brain look in the firearm section for foxes mate
  11. on the pic in the first post at the bottom right corner it says ''dia 42mm'' does this refer to the scopes objective lens..? if so then you have chose the wrong option there, as you said you were using a 50mm scope. perhaps that's why villaman got different results..? you need to tell it the exact model of scope, eg.. panorama, eclipse, sport hd, sidewinder etc ... and which reticle you are using aswell.
  12. if you have X amount of rats that NEED shooting go with the best/ fastest tool for the job! okay true it takes the skill out of it for sure, but you get results! if your like me tho and don't need to kill miliions , and just want 2-3 rabbits for a stew then a lamp is fine and very rewarding to shoot well.! I cant lamp for toffee, but I get the odd few. if I had a problem that needed controlling I would use anything I could to get the job done
  13. lovely rifle mate I highly rate the hw97 had 4 over the years, and would have another anyday! well done on the bunnys and enjoy your stew I know what you mean about blunt knives, when im gutting rabbits with my knife its more like im trying to pleasure it with a dildo, that's how blunt they are! just not that good at knife sharpening lol
  14. lovely rifle, lovely dog, lovely read. lovely bird of prey, lovely result!! binoculars to find some squirrels tho..? your eyes must be worse than mine!
  15. Come on mac what you playing at.?? I have a hand injury at the min so the vermin round here is off the hook. For now! Il show you how its done, il be out towards the end of next week.. il get some pics so your remember what a dead animal looks like! Well done daz and matt
  16. you mean a HOP? lol, if it hops off down its hole it will come back out soon, wheras if it craps its load and flies off at 100mph it wont be seen again for the rest of the day.
  17. I read its just a gene, a dominant one, that gives them black fur instead of grey.. said something like in 25 years or so they will all be black rather than grey. but its the exact same species. a bit like the dobermann , they come in black, brown and blue, but mostly black then brown, then blue ones are pretty rare
  18. Pellets enjoy mate, well done on landing the permissions
  19. well them grey feckers have eliminated our reds to almost the point of extinction! You should feel very privileged Craig, I doubt I will ever see a wild british red squirrel in my lifetime, unless its on tv or the internet
  20. Aye squirrls are tough indeed Sometimes they take 2 brainshots to drop them and then another 2-3 to finish them off!!
  21. 177 or 22 ?? what power, and what pellets..?
  22. Yeah 4x and 16x *should* be the same at 25 yards mate
  23. come on mac, only one rabbit!! thought you were good  great read lads sounds like a good night getting trench foot and coming back with no rabbits, I remember them days!! as for finding the rabbit in the scope straight away, that will come with time mate, its like an instinct after a while, comes naturally. you could try zooming out a bit tho in the meantime if your getting too close to the rabbits..
  24. Keep a pcp for work.. And get a hw77 sfs tuned. You know it makes sence
  25. Mate i got 108 before it started slowly dropping off... all of these were between 12.5 - 12.7 ft lbs. Obviously i have had it turned down.. now its doing 11.4-11.5 with air arms field diabolo. Over a 14 shot string Its a .22 karbine aswel with standard weihrauch cylinder. So now i think i should get more shots.. but i havent done a full chrono string test yet myself since i got it back.
