Get the media involved and your local politician for a character witness and they will soon back down. It's easy drag people through family court matters because of privacy laws but if it hits the newspapers nobody wants to be seen as been a twat. Even if names are withheld gossip will still let everyone know who is involved and embarrass a few people. They won't like that.

I've heard of that before where people were given brand new houses but they lived in caravans in the yard and kept the piebald ponies in the unfurnished houses. On cold winter nights they would sit around a fire in a barrel outside and the stove in the house was never used. Whatever about keeping traditions but if it's snowing my arse is going to be as close as possible to that stove inside.??? -
