  1. Tuesday 17th July 2012 Weather, cloudy but warm, time, 17:00 hours. I decided to try and get a green flag from Mrs Mawders to go for a mooch at one of my permissions. She agreed so I placed the newly acquired HW95K in the boot of the car and drove the 10 or so miles to airgun heaven. I arrived at the perm and went about checking the zero in the barn. The range was 30 yards. So after using PCP's to date and getting lazy with my hold technique a return to springer heaven has meant that I need to loose my habits and start learning all over again. I kept telling myself, "dont hold it t
  2. Hi mate, Balance is spot on, not sure what it would have been like with a 50mm scope but the 40 just looks and feels so right. It's not really heavy either, very pointable. It is a bit long though even though it's a carbine, the silencer adds some length but aids cocking. For me it's the perfect little mooching rifle. I'm not one for camping a warren or waiting to long in any given spot, I get to restless so I like to be on the move, you don't even get sore arms or back with this rifle. Hope that helps.
  3. Yes mate, hope to get some hunting pics/stories up soon when I can get out and shoot weather permitting. Good news on your shooting but then I reckon you could probably shoot the ball bag off an ant at 60 meters with your skills! ATB Phil
  4. Tony really is one of the nicest blokes you will meet, his knowledge and expertise is simply put, amazing!! Might go in for the stage 2 tune for the 95k at crimbo! Nice little present from someone ha ha.
  5. Lovely looking rifle, well look at everyone buying lovely new springers me included and we can't go fire them because of this ridiculous weather!
  6. This one doesn't twang at all my friend! Tony worked his magic, it just makes a little thud, sounds just like si's 97k in his stage 1 video when he picked it up from SFS. Sat here eyeing it up at the moment wishing I was outside now shooting.
  7. Blasphemy! Take it back. Moderator delete his post, he's swearing! Hahahaha I know what you mean. It's that Thumbhole stock that does it for me. I had a Sporter stock 97K and it lost out to the craftsmanship and refinement of that on the TX200. Otherwise I couldn't make my mind up, both superb quality pieces of kit. I know each to their own, some hate the thumbholes but for me its a very smart move on Wiehrauch's part and is enough to keep the 97 forever lurking in my mind... You'll never get one, because you know if you do the blunderbuss will not get used anymore. Es lebe deu
  8. Using H&N FTT in .22 in mine and got to say they are a good pellet, you have to squeeze the skirts so hard just to get them to bend slightly. So I have had no bad ones yet in my tin. Hit hard and also are accurate.
  9. Skot fair play to you for attempting the clean yourself but I know personally I would be taking mine to a gun shop or someone that's competent at it because I wouldn't try it myself.
  10. Wednesday 11th July 2012 The phone rings and what felt like an eternity of waiting was over, it was Tony from Sandwell Field Sports telling me my new rifle was ready for collection. I couldn't wait to get hold of her, I had placed my order 3 weeks before and was yearning to get back out into the field. Friday 13th July 2012 The day had arrived, the time was 10am and I had just dropped off my Mrs at work and the kids at nursery. Sat Nav set up, some smokes rolled for the journey and I set off on the 60 mile journey to meet Tony and collect the rifle. I arrived at the shop about 50
  11. So I use a silicone gun cloth and spray on some Bisley silicone gun spray then wipe down the blueing and stock after using my rifles but just wondered what everyone else uses to keep their pride and joys safe from rust grime? List the products. ATB guys.
  12. Nice write up dude and lovely rifle, just can't beat a pocket full of pellets and a lovely springer in your arms.
  13. That sir is one hell of a bag! Don't fancy gutting that many though! Well done dude.
  14. Another truly outstanding vid guys, keep up the work. I thought the first out take was Si showing his crack off on the second bunny! You sir need to put on some pants lol ;-)
  15. Nice one dude, good choice of music, lovely rifle!
  16. Good video Malc, enjoyed it but I'm sorry, that method for breasting pigeons just looks like a messy time consuming faf! I'll stick to the good old method of using a sharp knife and cutting them off old school style. Interesting though but couldn't help think its alot of mess. Keep up the good work Malc with your channel.
  17. Ha ha, awesome story, he popped his vermin cherry, awesome! Good to see your taking him out. Most people are not priviledgedto have permissions and also being new someone to show them the ropes.
  18. Really good footage and shooting mate.
  19. Well I wasn't in the army and I for one know you shouldn't be spraying anything down the barrel ever! You lightly spray the little cloth tabs and pull em through then pull through loads of dry tabs getting rid of all the moisture. Dude just use up all your dry tabs if you have to making sure its dry. If that fails then I guess some oil or something has got into the spring area.
  20. Lovely looking gun dude, if I didn't have one on order from SFS right now I would have defo had that! A real bargain for someone but if I was you mate I would be asking a bit more than you have! Your giving that away!
  21. Guys, another awesome video, some impressive bird shots Davy! But the wow factor came with that bunny shot Si, simply put, the best shot I have ever seen on a bunny at those ranges and with a springer it goes to show you certainly have the skill dude!
  22. It would seem your having better luck than others on your adventures out. It's done nothing but pee it down in Gloucestershire since late may! Nice shooting buddy!
