A Hunters Review of the SMK TH208 .22
Mawders replied to milegajo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Dude I've owned a BSA supersport, BSA superstar, two tx200 in mk2 and 3 and fired lot of other peoples springers and all felt better than that SMK. I don't think I could justify even SPENDING that much money on that SMK. But it's my opinion and everyone's differ. Cheers Mawders -
Lol Skot remind me not to buy any furniture from you in the future lol. Could you not just fire it in the garden rather than the furniture ha ha. My wife would kick my arse if I started shooting up the living room lol. Cheers Mawders

A Hunters Review of the SMK TH208 .22
Mawders replied to milegajo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
It's not a harsh review mate, just my opinion on the rifle. Yep you sure did hit a bottle top I missed a few times, I think that's the shooter rather than the rifle. Your a better shot than me which I admit. However I would be alot better if I could open my caravan door and shoot a target all day every day as I pleased. I only get to out one every fortnight if I'm lucky due to work/home life. I'll get better at shooting. However I didn't say you couldn't hit the target with one, just said it felt like a bag of bolts to hold and fire. Sorry for any misunderstanding caused. I -

A Hunters Review of the SMK TH208 .22

You didn't pay for that rifle did you Mike, they gave you it for free as you promised a review? When I last saw you using it you were not do complimentary if memory served me right. Did you really shoot that bird with the SMK. ;-) So they letting you keep it now you have given a complimentary review? Must admit it wasn't my cup of tea when I saw it, felt like a bag of bolts to handle and shoot. Think I would save a little more and get a better rifle, I wouldn't feel happy shooting vermin with it, maybe paper targets. ATB Mawders -
Skot did you dry fire that in the vid? If so remind me not to buy a rifle from you in the future.

Sorry only followed it when it was the WWF.

I find it highly strange they don't make left handed versions I mean how hard can it be?

The old downs springer shoot Si sounds like a plan, funnily enough I was going to go up there last Sunday with Davey but work got in the way. ATB Mawders

Oh miles why do you play these games, the men in white coats will come knocking if that's what a twisted memory you have of that days events. Haha

Ohhhhhh the British bulldog now he was brilliant! The undertaker scared the shit outa me though! When we were based in Belgiam at the NATO base WWF came to town, I was at scouts and the old man fecked off with his mate to watch it without me! I'll never forgive him!

Oh no this is like when I was a kid and I was torn between two heroes, hulk hogan or ultimate warrior???. Don't do this to me Si it ended in tears when I was a kid, it could get ugly!
-
That sounds great Si you can shoot my 95 whilst I stand there and comb your hair or something? Maybe fan you down? Buff and bull your boots?

I've owned standard HW95's in the past and SFS tuned HW95s. The standard is still very good out he box with amazing accuracy but as stated can be a bit twangy for some. In comparison to a SFS tuned HW95 a standard HW95 is a sub standard rifle. I do not mean this with any disrespect to Weihrauch's standard rifles as they are awesome in their own right and better than almost every other rifle on the market out the box by maybe 2 or 3 other models. Its just a way of me trying to explain the differences in quality and performance. Quieter with no twangy noises, smoother, easier to

Tony at SFS is more than happy to post it to a local firearms dealer to you for a small fee, think its 15 quid. Look the best thing to do really is ring him isn't it and ask him these questions. He will give you the low down! -

Yep he sure does! I gave him a ring and ordered my 95K with a stage 1 tune and hawk panorama scope. It takes about 3 weeks for him to tune as he is stacked with tune up jobs at present but well worth the wait my friend! I would buy all my rifles from him, quality service, plus he zeros the scope on the range to see how it groups. ATB Mawders -
Have it SFS tuned that's all I can say!
-
Plus Milegajo reports his 177 is twangy, mine is not, I hear nothing from mine but then I had it tooned by the master at SFS when I picked it up do don't know what they are like straight from the box!
-
Panorama every day, the overdraft is worth it, why scrimp, you'll only ever always think "I wish I had a panorama on it" and never truly be happy. Just do it!
