Steve I've been using them for the past year, you have made the right choice! Tony and the team are awesome! You WILL be impressed with the results my friend!

Shoulder both stocks and see if you like the thumbhole stock! It's personal choice I'm afraid. It's what ever feels more comfy! Everyone is different. Personally I'm now a big fan of hw thumbhole stocks.

Like I said it could just be a faulty batch but then I had two of them from different sources and both produced the same result. I hope it gets fixed or addressed and future rifles go back to how they used to be as the older ones from a few years ago don't suffer the same problem it would seem from doing my own research. Essentially it would be the most awesome springer out the box! Accuracy wise and looks wise they are at the top of their game! I think I posted in another topic that's why I buy new so I get warranty and the ability to return a rifle for refund or swap! Imagine if I

I might send my contact an email who dealt with the original air rifle. I think if the pro sport shifted as many units as the faithful tx then you would hear of more problems. The few people I did talk to at the range said they had owned a few pro sports over the years but got rid due to quality control with the levers. One bloke said he cocked his rifle one day and the black pin had slightly come loose where the lever attached to the block so when he went to push the lever back up it caused massive deep damage to the bespoke walnut stock. He quickly fell out of love with it and traded it for

Thanks Simon, Skott and river romper. Fry in both new rifles I received there was play in the lever, it would rattle from side to side but what I think was the main problem was it looked like AA hadn't milled enough off of either side of the alloy block or the lever itself that straddles it held in place by that pin. The marks along both alloy parts were deep and long representing the whole cocking motion. What's worse is on both rifles I found small fragments of alloy in the loading port when I cocked the gun because of the see through port system they use which means as minute as they were t

Thanks halfinch, as soon as this weather gets better I'll be out alot with the 97. It's not me that's bothered by the cold, it would seem the vermin are all still tucked up in the warm on my permissions! Then I'll be in a position to review it and do a proper comparison. Cheers Mawders

You won't be disappointed mate SFS will work their magic on her! Great post by the way!

That I am certain it will mate! ;-)

Cheers stu and cheers Davey, like I said though I think of it to like this, " it's better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all". I would still want one if I had just collected the 97 off the bat. Still a lesson learnt!

Fry I know mate! I searched the net high and low and couldn't find one post on the subject which is why I've come to the conclusion it must be the new ones! Funnily enough when enough was enough and I ordered my 97 two members on this forum pm'd me stating they had exactly the same issue and got rid of theirs! I think that lever has alot to answer for, essentially it would be the perfect rifle were it not for that lever!

Thanks Elliott I will defo do a review focusing on the tune. Miles, thanks for the kind words, I feel it may be a bit long winded for some people but felt I needed to get my account down about the last 3 months! Daz its truly shocking mate! I was so surprised at the shoddy craftsmanship of one of the most expensive spring rifles on the market! It's left me feeling VERY disappointing indeed!

For anyone interested my account of my saga is live in rifle reviews talking about the pro sport, I know some wanted to know when it was ready. It's called a tale of two halfs. The next write up will have a comparison between the pro sport and the 97 SFS stage 2 tune.

Let me just start off by stating that this post is an account of the past three months of what has seemed like an epic saga. I'll detail the good points, the bad points and some welcome surprises along the way. This is more a story of my rational and decision making that's meant I have spent the past 3 months without a stable rifle. The Beginning It all started back in December 2012 when after long hard decision making and looking at the results others were getting with .177 air rifles I decided to make a U turn and change over from .22 air rifles and make the transition to .177. Lovely creatures them, I'm a big birds or prey fan and saw one of those whilst out on my perm a few weeks back, it was about 30 yards away watching something, looked at it through the scope and the colours on them are really good! Anyone caught shooting anything not on the vermin register with air guns should have some justice their way!

Hey fry, its not so much a review really, its my experiences over the past 3 months. Started it last night its going to be long so make a coffee when you read it, most won't have the will to keep reading lol. It's turning into a war and peace article. I'll hope to have it done tonight or tomorrow. I hope there isn't a word limit to posts or I'm screwed lol!

Must admit I have never tried opening up any rifle as my technical know how is rubbish to say the least, I fire the things only! I was shocked a while back when I saw a tx200 being stripped in front of my eyes as to how easy it looked. Very good guns for would be fettlers!

Nicely done, impressive tally mate.

A man after my own heart lol! This KT I purchased is my first dabble into thumbhole not out of choice, however now I've handled and shot her I'm glad I got it. Don't know whether its hw or all manufacturers but they really have nailed the thumbhole design, it just feels so right! I wouldn't rule it out completely fry is my advice.

Awesome pic and good to get some fresh air!
-
Nice shooting mate that's awesome!
-
Oh and mate, rest assured again your nickel plated 97 will look the nuts in a wooden stock. I've seen a SFS tuned nickel plated 97 in a wooden stock and it was lovely, makes it all look properly customised!
-
Essentially its a 97KT which we have all seen before! The magic happens inside the gun mike but I dare not open that up as it would void my warranty with SFS. Rest assured I was told today at SFS what goes into a stage 2 and its mind blowing! Far more sophisticated than my feeble brain can take in!
-
Get online mate and come play lol. By the way I picked up my 97KT today from SFS with its stage two tune! Wow!!!!!!! Your going to be well chuffed mate.
-
I've played forza its a cracking game, I could get a copy if we have race nights lol! Loving battlefield 3 now chopper whoring and tank bashing!
