My Lad made this knife yesterday. First one he has put on the market so keeping the price low. You can see some of his work over on the craft thread http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/337559-one-for-the-kids/page-7 He wants £55 for it. Series 2 Landy spring blade, Oak scales. He made a few with this steel and it is a relay good blade steel. 80grit finish on the blade but that is the effect he was looking for. If you prefer a mirror finish you could easily work through the grits yourself with wet & dry. 7inch overall 3 3/4 inch blade full ground taper.

A pair of sir-clip pliers springs the collar off, quick file to the sides of the rivet head to take the splay off and punch it through. One end of the rivet generally only has a slight splay so dosn't take much, can re-use the rivet on re-assemble and just round over wit ball-pin hammer. I plan to do some step by step pictures next time and will post them up.

Any suggestions on a supply of antlers? Preferably just suitable tips straight one way like a banana Thanks Griff
-
No problem mate. PM sent.
-
Ok thanks for the interest all. Another 2 blades ordered a No7 and a No8.
-
There seems to be a bit of interest. Hendog478 has first dibs on this one. And Flaco on the next as they have PM'd with specific requests. At the moment that is all the blades i have but can order more if there is enough interest. State your interest here and follow up with a PM. First come first serve basis. Also i have limited antler tips that are suitable as they need to be straight one way not like a corkscrew. I have used the first tip next to the crown on the two i have already made. If anyone could supply said tips i would be interested.

From BASC "As we are expecting there to be a large number of applications and the Police are struggling under their current workload it is best to apply early. If you have applied for an air weapon certificate before the 31st October 2016 and your certificate has not arrived by 31st December 2016 you will be able to continue to hold (but not use) your air weapon even if the certificate has not yet been issued. If you make an application after the 31st October 2016 and have not been issued with a certificate by 31st December 2016 you will need to make alternative storage arrangements until

Sorting the brakes on my plant trailer yesterday and realized the biggest socket i had wasn't quite big enough to fit the hub nuts. Thought i would have a go at making one up. Had a rummage in the scrap pile and oped for a bit of high carbon bar from a tractor 3pt stabilizing arm and found a bit of box to take the 3/4 drive on my big swivel bar. Cut & welded for an hour then ground the welds with a flap disc. Hears the results. Wasn't sure if the welds would be up to the job but the nuts were stuck and i had 5 feet of scafold pipe on the end of the sw- 346 replies

Cracking work always

Yes the 35 is basic but has been a great gun and served me well. Only put a scope on it a few years back, just used the open sights before that which for close up work i actually prefer, might put them back on yet as i have a scope on the AA S410. Not expecting any issue with the license but you never know.

Nice Job!

Yes mate proud indeed. Lost a bit of hare in the process but worth putting in the effort as it pays off in the end. Thanks for all the positive feedback. Griff

Just demonstrating the design principle, it can be applied to making a two piece spade just as easily.
