    After a very long break from fishing must been 15 last time I fished tidy execpt for winning the Thl fishing comp got all my stuff in order new rod reel and few bits and pieces rod licence sorted a day on the wye to with my uncle and cousin today !!

    Don't agree with that. I believe that to get the best out of a dog you've got to actually like the breeds, and the qualities they have and give, that make up the type of lurcher that you work. As an example, the second lurcher I owned, about 30 years ago had a small amount of saluki on both sides, but she ended up with all of the undesirable traits of a saluki, not saying all salukis are are bad, and I couldn't get on with her at all, and it's coloured my judgement of saluki bred dogs ever since, and I know I couldn't get the best out of one.Some types of lurcher suit your own character, and y

    To make a all round lurcher you would have to live somewhere with a lot of different quarry in plenty of numbers for the dog to master all the trades dont get me wrong I bet there is dogs out there that can do it all and I bet a bottom dollar those dogs are not mentioned on here !! Myself my blue bitch suits me she lamps ferrets and hunts the hill with my young dog following her foots steps are they world beaters no they are not but do they keep me happy feck yeaaa I love being out with them would they suit someone else probably not every man has different needs for a dog no dog will suit ever

    Had a night last season out lamping straight after rugby training on the way back to the car with 20 rabbits on my back wellies sinking on a pig of a field up a hill carrying my old bitch that got injured on her last run nearly had me in tears haha

    I get myself and the mutts on to a nice banking looking over the farm lie down dog each side looking over the sheep and other farm animals and chill bloody lovely after a weeks work !!

    Great story I do enjoy watching the lurchers jumping in the long grass looking for movement but heat is a killer the old bitch can not handle the heat

    I do love living in wales some beautiful sites and where I play rugby still got the great village feeling really tight community but I would happly move to other parts of the world for a better life style and probably more money for the job I do but wouldn't for the world leave my dogs as sad as it sounds they are like my children and mean everything to me
