    There's no doubt about that and the legendary stories and out going temperament of the so called Patterdale would appeal to a lot of folk, until it kills the neighbours cat or gets lost underground that is. I shouldn't laugh but I had to smile when my Patterdale escaped out of the garden only to go next door and somehow chew threw the rabbit pen to kill the neighbours rabbit. They found the dog asleep with a devoured rabbit missing... True story.

    Don't just blame the KC. It pains me to say it but I think sometimes the people most passionate about certain breeds end up unknowingly doing the most damage, for example book writers. Richard Stratton in a way regrets writing all those books about the APBT as it made them sexy and fashionable, before the books they were relatively unknown to the public, I'm sure the same happened over here to dogs and hunting in general....

    Does anyone care, as long as they are still used as workers does it really matter? What's in a name anyway? I'd bloody care if someone told me what the terriers I've bred for generations are or are not. Especially if that person only had them a wet week and was jumping on a band wagon.But I do agree that K.C. recognition wouldn't effect those who are true to them as workers. As long as you know the score what's it matter? I'd just smugly smile while the numpty made his claims and walk away contempt knowing I had the real deal on the leash...

    Hancock is the biggest peddlar of working dogs in the country and that's coming from someone who's owned one of his dogs. The entire litter was nervous and looked like they had little human contact if any at all, being a young kid who'd read a few Plummer books I had my heart set on a Merle dog, I wouldn't have one again....

    My old russel ate loads of rat blocks took it to vets got an injection to be sick then vitamin k tablets, the vet said you could give the dog a spoon of mustard straight away after swallowing something it shouldn't and it would be sick straight away same as the injection A while back on here I advised someone to always have a supply of Vit K handy if there's a risk of their dog picking up rat poison or poisoned rats.A couple of Pesty's said that most poisons nowadays are not warfarin based so Vit K is a waste of time.     Don't know how you guys feel but I think it's a bit weird a member of the Old Bill posting topics about Deer books and such inviting folks out for runs with their dogs..... We all know how they try their damndest to persecute the average working man yet do fcuk all with real crimes.... My uncle had his allotment broke into recently and it took them a week to come and investigate yet shine a torch at night and they'll be on you quicker than you can say blueberry pie, thankfully they are as inept at catching lampers as they are burglars....

    How many pure owners enter into the coursing comps? also how many run coursing dogs as opposed to pures so the numbers dont stack up do they. How many of the comp winners are not heavily saturated saluki x,s? So why aren't they entering these comps? If i had a top dog and knew it's ability then it's a no-brainer.
