i think ye tuppence worth is bang on the money, the best terriers i seen ferreting, didnt have a terrier attitude if that makes sense, the terrier i use is more like a spaniel in most ways

i own a terrier i use for ferreting, an she surprised me haha, she is a very handy dog to have out with you an can be trusted 100% with ferrets marks anything with fur or feathers on an works well with nets, but i wouldnt ever go out an get meself a terrier as a ferreting dog, i think it is madness, the terrier i got here was not intended on being used with ferrets or for bunnys, but after accidently noticing she could do it, i let her carry on, she aint nowhere near your average terrier in temperment or attitude, an i think thats what makes teh diffrence, ill be sad to take this 1 out for her

i see walking a young dog upto a bunny a good thing, i agree id be pissed off it i had to do it for a dog that knew score, but with a young dog i actually like walking them up, so much so if im out way a mate an they got a pup, ill often offer to walk it up lol whats the big deal wat walking a couple hundred yards at most??? more often than not i get the same buzz doing it as i did as a lad, not knowing what could happen, watching the young dogs reactions, its all part of dogwork, id much rather do it that way than go onto an empty field an mess about lamping a dummy or a food bowl ffs, how bo

nae offence guys, but some a yous are way over thinking this situation, get the pup out, show it some bunnys, an itll soon click an start trusting the guy doin the lamp, practice makes perfect............ as far as walking up the beam to sitter, it dont take long for a dog to pick up whats happening, ye may have to walk upto a few to start with but that wont last forever

its madness, the words, anti, grass an dog thief are thrown around these boards too often noo, it seems every other person is 1 or the other that pup is exactly that, a pup, catch some bunnys, kill them infront of the dog, play tug a war with them, use the tug game to reward the dogs retreive an the dog will soon start striking
