Tuner Suggestion For Bsa R10 Sc
airtech replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
you had obvously done something to the regulator to stop it working all to gether because even at 2000 psi the r10 will not produce 40ft. depending on the cal of the rifle the reg will be set no higher then 100 bar and thats a .177 with a 12 inch barrel so a 15.5 inch barrel will have a much lower reg pressure -
Broken Pellet Probe.
airtech replied to ArchieHood's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
this is a common problem on the .177 ultra se and scorpion se as well as r10 the early bolt is 5mm dia and has a 3mm allen bolt that holds the banjo on, the bolt breaks between the banjo hole later bolts have the same banjo dia as the .22 so eliminating this problem -
Bsa Scorpion Over Legal Limit
airtech replied to Lee.m's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
turning the power down on a scorpion or ultra is no more than a 15 min job behind the end cap there is a simple adjuster. anti clockwise will reduce the power -
there is a lot that can be done to the ultra, carbon fibre back venting shrouds. titanium air cylinders 60% lighter than the original steel cylinders anti bounce hammer systems. regulators. www.airtechrifles.co.uk

you cant rush a good thing Simon its like making good wine. and nearly takes as long. especialy if I do the work. altho I'm getting a little faster. that's because its so cold in the workshop only way to keep warm is move about faster

Phil you are going the wrong way a 400cc bottle is fitted to a rapid but only a 200cc on a R10 so you will get less shots the 400cc bottle is 50mm dia so is the 500cc bottle the 400 and 500 both use the same 18x1.5mm thread these both can be fitted to the rapid. to fit a 400 or 500 onto a R10 you need a longer bottle valve otherwise it will not clear the stock

yes as Philpot says im away in china at the moment and will be until the end of november. i can still log on to airgun forums but not facebook, fitting a reg to a air arms rifle, is not as simple as the videos make out i have been there done that and found out the hard way. for a start the brass valve spring valve return spring holder needs modding once i did that i then found out the air flow around the valve head was not good.you realy struggle to get the power from the rifle unless you turn up the reg pressure. and thats defeating the object. so what i do is remove the top of the brass kno

Where the wait comes in with any rifle that is sent in to have work done is making the parts. I do not do a quick spit and polish I try where possible to make batches of parts. This takes time to do. Some rifles respond well to the modifications where as others do not. With a regal I can spend all day changing the hammer and regulator settings to get the rifle to shoot at its optimum. Anyone can chuck a reg in a rifle fit a weaker spring drill out the transfer port and say it's been tuned that's as far away from a tuned rifle as you can get. You can fit a reg to a rifle and get less shots if i
-
Hi Colin your regal is now finished. give me a shout when you have time.

easy way is to take the trigger unit off the rifle. but you may need to drill out the anti tamper aluminium cap if its never been took apart before that is the silver cap on the back trigger bolt. once that's off you will be able to pull the bolt back and see. I get a lot of ultras in with the same problem.
-
its a easy fix. you first need take the brass bottle adaptor off there is a o ring on that part too. once thats off just unscrew the brass bolt there is a small bearing in there so dont loose it. with both parts off the rifle you may as well change both seals. just make sure you put the cut out on the plastic washer in the correct place when assembling it back on the rifle

sorry guys i dont look on the site often. yes i agree my communication skills are shit i need to address these better i feel. where a lot of the problems come from are i get many messages/e mails and other messages sent to me every day its hard to keep trak on things. many messages i read while im out waiting at resturants etc. i read the message and think yes i need get and sort that out. but by time i have finished reading all other messages and got back home i have forgotten. but not intentially. unfortunatly over this year i have had many issues not only with a death that is in the past.

it would help if you told us what gun you have, and what is wrong with it ?

if it is a S10 and its low on power look to get the regulator tested. these rifles are a little old now most that come to me have seals that have perished in the reg this will give low power readings from the rifle.
-
This is very common with the air arms they fit a 12mm barrel and for some stupid reason turn the end of the barrel down to 10mm where the silencer fits. i have had so many air arms rifles in with broken slings that caused bent barrels.you are better off to have a 12mm barrel fitted and have a adaptor made to fit over the barrel not one of the rubbish ones that has grub screws holding it to the barrel. I make a sweated joint that has a 1/2" unf thread you can then screw any silencer to the rifle
-
if your after the very best from a ultra honestly chuck the bsa barrel in the skip. the barrel quality has gone down hill over the years. they are so rough in the bore its untrue the current barrels are nothing like the older S10 barrels. my top tune on a R10 and ultra I do not use the bsa barrel. I would put one of the top tuned rifles up against any ft rifle. another thing that lets the ultra and R10 down is the trigger its a false 2 stage trigger. I would take my own personal ultra to a club event and let anyone take it around the course to try I'm very sure it would open a few peo

if you are using the new mag in the S10 then you need to take out the indexer if you dont the mag will not work correctly
-
yes unfortunatly the pressure gauge is tapped directly into the firing chamber on the regal so any fitting of a reg will mean the gauge will only read reg pressure. if you was having a custom made stock i would recomend the guage be blocked off and have a quick fill on the end of the cylinder that also has a pressure gauge like the goldstar etc. your reg is set to 95 bar Andy not 110 as your pressure guage reads
-
Andy try daystate Sovereign or air arms diabolo express both in 4.52 both worked well in the rifle when I was setting it I found the 4,50 wasn't that good. also when you charge the rifle charge it slow don't just blast the air in. that will bounce the piston in the reg and give you low power for a number of shots. your pressure gauge on the gun is not reading correct the reg is set to 95 bar but the gauge on the rifle reads just over 100 bar these small gauges are really just a indicator just let me know if it is all over the place from the next charge. if it is I will fit a restrictor into
-
forgot to say the original o rings that was fitted by daystate have been removed the 2 off o rings on the reg the one on the outside seals the reg into the aircylinder the other seals the reg on the firing valve. the reg vents from the small hole on the side by the outer o ring with this reg there is no need to drill holes into the air cylinder if there is a problem the air just vents from the thread that holds the cylinder to the valve
-
After fitting the reg to the regal i could not get the harper valve to to give higher power than 6ft . so that went into the bin. i replaced it with one of my own valves and the rifle instantly went to 14ft after doing some adjustments to the slingshot hammer and resetting the reg to 85 bar i now have it producing 11.6 ft tomorrow i will make up a volume reducer and fit that into the firing chamber and test again 14ft shows me there is to much volume in the chamber this is the reg out the action and in the action. the threads on the end of the reg are so i can test the regulator off the rifle
-
The reg is all done and ready to be fitted to the regal. i will take some pictures of the reg before i assemble the rifle back together again. so if someone can tell me how to post a picture up i will post one up so people can see how it fits to the action

Bsa R10 Super Carbine Trigger
airtech replied to vizlauk's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
there should be a grub screw with a lock turning the grub scrw clockwise will reduce the pull needed for the second stage.
