Sorry Moll, I should have made it clearer. I posted a couple of messages back in the thread, she ate the remaining few just before their eyes opened Onwards and upwards lol

Great mate, she's settled in a treat. Still soft as a brush, couple of playful nips but nowt naughty. I got a tiny polie gill at the Astley show this weekend - she's from ratting parents, really tiny, and although she's friendly enough she's a LIVE wire. Not scared to give the odd nip either lol Cheers.

Hiya mate, Glad to see you've finally gone ahead and changed to raw Don't worry about things so much matey, I know its easily done but think about it this way. When did you last worry whether your ferrets were getting enough minerals, vitamins, or whatnot? You don't - you just do what's best and chuck them a mix of raw food/prey. Do the same for your dogs and you'll be laughing mate. I know she's a fussy bitch and then some, but stick with it. Just imagine a prey animal and feed her like that (that is - bone with meat, some offal, tripe, heart etc in about the same amounts o

Who mentioned first cross? He was a 5/8 grey 3/8 bull, and a good one at that. If ya don't believe me, ask Bull Cross - he bred the bugger! LOL
-
Yeah she's coming along nicely mate. I'd love to see that pic if you can get one I had a bull/grey once who was bigger than her (nearly 23") at 14 weeks old!! He made 30" in the end and is now (*ahem* was) pulling down deer for a living with a pro mate of mine. Gotta love those running dogs. That reminds me, seen your new book out and about - I'll have to get me a copy some day soon, see what you've been up to since the Moocher days lol (mooch didn't reply to my mail about getting back onto the forum after the upgrade?! )

Here y'are lads, a couple of indoors pics of my Saluki/Grey/Wheaten x Bull/Grey pup Belle. She's five months old now, and marks rabbit holes strongly when we're walking about. Roll on September/October so I can put the ferret down and show her what its all about Sorry they're crappy pics, I'd get some out in the field but it'd normally only be the local park or the beach - I don't like hunting outside of 'season' JMHO. This is her at...erm, 11 weeks I think this was. Now this morning at five months: Lazy arsed mutt LOL She's thrown strongly to the Wheate

Dunno about that but be aware it doesn't sort ticks out. I started using it on my lurcher pup and after a month or so I found a huge tick full of blood under her "armpit" after a trip to the sand dunes. I rang the vets after removing it and apparently Stronghold doesn't touch ticks. It can do fleas, mange mites, ear mites, worms, and all sorts - so why the hell can't they sort it to do ticks? Answer? "Buy FrontLine as well as Stronghold" What a load of capitalist bollox! :realmad:

Never had a problem either, I feed 100% raw. I personally wouldn't cut anything up, chewing and tearing the food up is good for the teeth. JMHO

Nice one It's on again in 20 mins (7pm) and again on +1 so I'm gonna watch it while the kids go to bed. Thanks for the tip

I'm with Bulldog Broadband. I pay £38 a month for line rental, unlimited phone calls, and EIGHT meg broadband Their customer services team stinks, seriously - but the broadband is excellent. Basically if you're IT competent and can sort yourself out, go Bulldog for the price who cares about their CS LOL But if you're a broadband newbie, I'd find someone with decent CS centres.

SkinnyMan, if you really really must feed kibble (it's much cheaper and just as easy to feed raw! ) but don't want to spend a fortune, I'd recommend Autarky Summer. It's a tenner for 20Kgs last time I checked, down at Costco. I think it's normally 15Kg bags though (still well cheap) and it's a good kibble. If you can't get it cheap at Costco it's about £14 in the shops. No chemicals, no crap but the usual cereals you get in dried food. It's marketed as a non-expensive premium brand and tbh for a kibble it does what it says on the bag. The dogs looked good on it and they liked it

I started out feeding chicken wings from Tezzies as well mate, but I soon moved over to the meat wholesalers. I pay 15p a pound (£3 for a 20lbs crate) of chicken backs with all the meat and skin still on. Don't forget you'll still have to give them tripe, liver, heart, kidney etc. Good luck with it

Gnipper/R, Alright mate? H's gill ate the last couple of kits just as they were about to open their eyes - feck knows why?! Anyway, Snowy is well and truly shafted (about a million times lol) by his hob so fingers crossed. Any kits left mate? I could do with a couple in case this doesn't turn out. Gimme a bell or something when you're free - I got wheels again now L

The only thing I'd mention is it's almost novel-style at first, giving the background on how and why he (as a vet) realised dogs should eat raw fresh meat and bones and not corn and cabbage. Some people have commented its a bit boring (I didn't think so), but believe me stick with it. Don't skip chapters that seem to be boring or irrelevant, they ALL contain pearls of wisdom, important scientific information, and tips n tricks. Enjoy the book, I know I did

I know I've posted this before, but as it's on topic: My Grey/Deer/Saluki cross at 1yr old and just a smidge under 26". Fast as hell, bags of stamina, very workable, and an excrutiatingly painful saluki/deerhound soft temperament (I drop a feed pan, all the dogs come running, except her, ducking in the corner in case the bang is shouting at her LOLOL).

While I'm sure everyone has their own opinion, I would only recommend "Raw Meaty Bones - Promote Health" by Dr Tom Lonsdale. It's a book heavily based on scientific work, publications etc, and gives a strong argument for raw feeding. That's in contrast to certain other authors who sell books telling you how to feed veggie mush, then try to sell you said mush LOL You can get it cheap on Amazon

What, like this one? :11:

Hi guys, Here's some shots from today of the three little monkeys surviving from the gill's first litter. They're a couple of weeks old now. The parents are both polecats, but are brother and sister (ie carrying the same genes more or less). So although both parents are poleys, they are both carrying recessive genes for all available colours (the bloodline throws everything from silvers to black eyed whites). What colour are these kits going to be? They all look like silvers to my untrained eye (first litter I've had). Two gills and one hob: Awww.... Last one: Any

I know this isn't owt special unless it's your own dog, but today my bitch Nightmare caught her first rabbit since she's been with me We were only out walking by the marina with the kids and the dogs, but the bitch had other ideas. She ran out to a reed bed, circled it and refused all calls to come back. There I am cursing "that bloody pup" for an unusual refusal to recall, when lo and behold she pounces into the foliage and stands back up with a squealing bunny in her mush She brought it back live to hand without me even asking to boot, what more to ask Only a 3/4 grown young un,

Alright mate? Maybe I've worded the site badly, but from memory the week 8 page says that on the first two days of the final week the dog should get three miles roadwork, followed by two days of one mile roadwork, then a couple of days' rest? That's not no work, it's just reduced work. After 8 weeks of hard yakka, the dog will be totally fit and honed to a tee, if it's done right. Two days resting up (aside from the fact I mention to stretch their legs!) is simply to ensure the dog is relaxed, recharged, and comes out into the comp (or whatever) bursting with energy to get back to work.

I just joined a meat cash and carry "oop North" and went in for a mooch yesterday when my membership card arrived. 10KG chicken wings for under a tenner, and 25lbs of whole chicken backs (basically a chicken quarter with plenty of meat, fat, skin etc on the bone) for only £3 a box! Those backs are excellent, and at £3 for 25lbs we're talking what? *quickly counts on fingers... lol*... That's 12p per pound for great quality human grade meat from a butchers' I went to speak to the head butcher (it's a big warehouse cash and carry jobby) and wondered how to approach him about what ra

You're the second bloke to mention that mate, I'll swop it over this weekend to something a bit less psychadelic LOL Cheers.

SORRY MATE, IT IS 100% TRUE WHAT IS ON THE TIN! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're almost 100% right there mate - it IS true what's on the tin... tins contain mostly grain (like the label says), contain carcinogenic chemicals, preservatives etc (like the label says) and contain lots of manky by-products (like the label says). The only bit on the tin that ISNT correct is the part where it says "complete and balanced" :11: As one of the bigwigs from one of the world's biggest pet food manufacturers once said... "Give me a used rubber tyre, an old leather shoe and a gallon

I'd already found their URL through google, but the menu bar on the left hand side isn't loading. I tried to access google's cache but it's not loading on there either Dunno if it's just my PC or not? Have you got a direct url for the insurance info mate? Cheers, Lee
