  1. I always feed my dogs (and ferrets, snakes and lizards) a natural diet. I'm sure this came up in another thread recently? LOL Anyroad, they get fresh whole fish (sardines, mackerel etc) with guts and all, rabbits, squirrels, feather, stillborn lambs/pigs/calves, raw meaty bones like chicken wings, necks, whole chickens (three large oven ready hens with giblets for a fiver), rib racks with meat... and so on and so forth. They really like pigs' feet (including trotters and skin) and pig skin too. My local butcher gives me a bin bag full of chicken frames (with meat and organs), rib ra
  2. They're not mine either mate, that's the problem! The gill wasn't expected to drop, I was looking after her while a pal went away. She's only in a transport box, I have to let her out for feeding, to empty herself out and for exercise. That's when I took the pics, she'd not been bothered at all for the first week (by which time she'd already eaten those kits). I was feeding her through the mesh bars (chicken wings, mice etc) until this week. Cheers, Lee
  3. She did have seven but ate four of them for some reason She's doing a good job with the last three though, not bad for her first litter. Cute little buggers eh?
  4. Good question mate lol Got her off a family of gyppos - the wheaten was a drawing dog, not sure why she ended up in the mix. Jacket and grit maybe? The dam has a long harsh wheaten looking coat and does foxes so it didn't do any harm anyway lol Cheers, Lee
  5. Umm..... eerrrmmm...... Nope. :11:
  6. No mate, Inky's one of her grandparents -I think the lad I got her off used to own Ink? Not 100%, I'll ask him when I see him.
  7. Here's the little monkeys eating a quail. They were about ready to drop their litters at this time - the polecat dropped 7 last Tuesday, but no sign from the albino. She's past due, dropped her coat a while back and seems slim again lately - but no kits, no blood, no swelling or stretching of the vulva, no remains of kits... nowt! Dunno what's happened with that one - her teats have disappeared an' all. Thought if she'd eaten em there'd be some blood traces, changes to her vulva etc but it's just like she was never pregnant, bar the hair loss (and teats when she had them). Maybe a ph
  8. Alright lads, here's my two running dogs. First off, Nightmare. She's going on for 26" and was one year old this week. She's bred by Sooner out of Liverpool Lou "The Legend of Lincoln" (3x winner of the Calendar Cup 3/3 hares). Sorry it's a crap shot, I took it on the spur of the moment when I got new batteries for the cam lol Will get some in the field in Sept. She's Greyhound/Deerhound/Saluki and has taken her first hare at the end of the season just gone. Mops up rabbits and has tackled her first fox of her own accord 'by accident' as it were. Should be a good one come next
  9. I got a pair of Tevion walkie talkies from my local Aldi for £20 :11: They come with the basic 8 channels, VOX, headset adapters, rechargable batteries, charger etc. With a 5km range that's not bad at all at the price, the reception's crystal clear as well
  10. Don't do what me and my digging mate did - travel a hundred miles with three terriers and two lurchers, spend half an hour off the A5 in Chirk trying to actually find Pontfadog, then get to Tyn-y-dol field (only thing sounding owt like it we could find) to be told the guy over the bridge sometimes does dog shows but none this week... Yeah, that's right, we missed the change of date in the CW! :realmad: Still, the scenery was nice and at least it got us away from the lasses for a couple of hours :11:
  11. Mmm I'd find a way - legs in the oven, wings rolled in spicy sauce and shoved in the fryer, breast under the grill, and anything left to the dogs. Sorted :11:
  12. Re: all replies since my post. Yes some people state dogs are omnivores, but genetically and environmentally I believe they are carnivores by design. We domesticated the wolf but we didn't alter it's digestive system or food preferences! Their digestive system is not designed to handle grains or vegetation. That IS a scientific fact. No wild dog or wolf raids the corn field, unless they're lurking there looking for birds and rabbits :11: Take a look at your dog next time s/he eats a whole rabbit carcass (skin, fur and all) - most dogs will eat the guts and chyme (digested grass)
  13. I feed the best complete diet available today - complete, fresh, raw carcases You just can't beat good fresh food - it shows in the dogs big time, not to mention on the kennel floors (hardly any clean up, just a few hard, chalky bone-pellets which flies can't stand - bonus!). Most (99%) of dog foods with meat as the 'main' ingredient either have the water removed, meaning meat is no longer the main ingredient, or play clever with the labels. That is, listing "Dried chicken, corn meal, ground maize... etc" - so when you add the corn products up, there's a lot more corn than meat!
  14. Ta very much for the warm welcomes guys. Next door's just run a pigeon over and emptied the poor bugger's guts out, and left it flapping. Luckily me pup spotted it and brought it back (now out of its misery). Off to feed the ferrets!
  15. V?! LOL Now I AM confused mate LOL (not hard to do  ). Did you used to post as Stabs on smoochers? Or is that someone else? I always thought you and Stabs (smoochers) was two different people haha That'll teach ya to use two IDs  :11: How's them Staffords doing mate? Still foxing the orchards I hope. Sorry I lost touch mate, been in and out of the ozzy with my kidneys and whatnot until this year. Moved house twice too lol Drop me a line. Lee
  16. haha One of me bulldogs is half ginga if that counts (see avatar). Will get some pics as soon as I get batteries for the digicam. Later on today probably. Stabs, you are the same guy I used to talk to on smoochers? Lee
  17. Alright lads (and lasses ), Just joined the forum after seeing a link posted by Saluki. My name's Lee and I live in Merseyside/Lancashire. Been hunting most of my life one way or another, and keep bulldogs (not talking about the KC ones - my best male is 22" and 65lbs), a Saluki/Greyhound/Wheaten x Bull/Greyhound and a Greyhound/Deerhound/Saluki. That last bitch might be known to people on here - she's down out of Sooner, Inky, and Liverpool Lou the Legend of Lincoln. Anyroad, I live to get out in the fresh air to hunt/course all available quarry with the running dogs, terriers
