  1. Sincere apologies re: Milly Dowler, it was in fact Charlene Downes This is one of the earlier articles, can't find much more online outlining the later story developments confirming it all. Funny how when it's a white girl - barely a peep. Black kid? "High hopes for a glittering career, bright loved child etc etc..." These paki scum ground her bones into tile grout and mashed her flesh into burgers and kebabs. The media barely farted over the story... didn't want to be inflammatory? NO child deserves being murdered, but it just p's me off when we can't even announce and mourn
  2. You called? Help you out indeed I will mate, your head must be springeing by now! That better? Seriously though, this thread (not the first certainly not the last) is typical of the reaction of people indoctrinated by pet food manufacturer's propaganda. I'm in the process of drafting a full scale article for the site on nutrition and feeding but pending that here's my tuppence (again) in relation to comments thus far: 1) You do NOT have to mess about trying to "balance" a raw diet. Whole carcase or varied bits thereof (as whole as possible), straight out the fridge/freeze
  3. Just goes to show, you really never know what the heck you're eating when you get a takeaway in  Look at that poor school girl Milly Dowler; they found her in a kebab shop on Blackpool sea front in the end didn't they?
  4. Getting back on topic, have to agree there Moll Good luck to the lad, again at least he's off his arse (and the internet!) and doing something that isn't in the anti camp Agree that it'd be a nice cross to a gh or even a good whippet. Cheers.
  5. Course, Moll. Us working dog men love a bit of fish every now and again
  6. Six of one half a dozen of the other imho. After all if you feel that strongly as LOCKE said just don't sell pups to pet homes. Considering the hundreds of litters for sale every season, and the re-advertised stock every week, it seems there are more than enough pups to go around. Consequently, it's either don't breed so many (another thread in itself) and no chance for 'spares' for pet homes, or knock some on the head after the fact (to prevent them going to pet homes). Thing is does it really change anything? So long as you're buying terriers from someone who DOES work them, sur
  7. I got a Compaq (HP) SR1719UK a few months back; 2.2ghz AMD Athlon 64 bit, 1 gig ram, 200gb hard drive, dual layer lightscribe dvd r/w, all singing all dancing with a 17" flat panel and 2.1 speakers for £500 at PC world. Only trouble I've had is the DVD drive knackered up (over use apparently LOL) and they sent someone from HP to replace it with new the next day. Whatever you get, personally I'd go with something 64 bit and as high end as you can reasonably afford. As was said previously by all means don't go way over budget on a space rocket for sending email, but do bear in mind f
  8. I would have thought that after a night out he'd be slightly this side of gasping for a drink?
  9. Adopt it and start again... with the other sister. Pigeon toes ain't gonna hurt no-one
  10. Cats? Sacrosanct? Since when? LOL Last I heard DS they had no standing in law whatsoever. You can run the buggers over and not have to inform anyone, no legal penalty. So I don't see why you couldn't shoot them? After all, The Wildlife & Countryside Act amongst others prohibits allowing cats et al. to roam, so the owners are committing an offence by letting them out in the first place. A dead cat is a cat in the right place Don't get me wrong I quite like cats in a way, I've had them before and would probably own one again. I wouldn't ever let one roam though. Who in their
  11. If you're still looking/interested, Cucusoft's Video Converter Pro turns almost anything (including mpg, avi, divx etc) to S/VCD, DVD etc. Takes about 20 minutes to half an hour per movie (compared to winavi's hour!). http://www.cucusoft.com/avi-to-dvd.asp Always works for me. Costs US$29.99 for pro, but worth it (or *ahem* download it. On trial of course).
  12. Really sorry to hear about the stinker though mate, it doesn't sound good Best of luck, I've got my fingers crossed for you (so excuse any typos lol). Cheers, Lee
  13. Human wormers may well kill off any thread worm but I've yet to hear of a dog with those! Can't see it working on roundworm, hookworm, heartworm, tapeworm or any other worm native to your parts. Why is wormer so dear in your parts? Can you not get them cheaper online or via an independent vet pharmacy or something? Seeing as dog wormers only need to be given every three months at most (or just when you suspect worms maybe once a year or two!), 7 isn't much money at all. Providing you're talking about £ anyway. 3,50 'what'?
  14. Best mincer going, and easy on the pocket as well. CLICK HERE
  15. You can feed your stinkers on fresh whole fish (whole as in scales, heads, fins guts and all) just the same as your dogs and/or cats. Doesn't do them any harm and they seem to like it more often than not I pick up the cheap mackerel and sardines etc at the fish counter, usually 25p to 30p each. One fish does two ferrets, sorted
  16. Fresh (raw) fat is a great addition/supplement to a working animal's diet. It certainly won't do any harm and in fact has a lot of benefits as an energy source. Fat yields twice as many calories (available energy) as does protein or carbohydrate. Make sure it's only an ADDITION to the diet though; don't make it the focus, more like an additional treat.
  17. Each to their own and all that (and kudos REW for having the balls to post it up!), but I have to admit I'm in the "WTF?!" camp :11: Can think of better things to do on a dark night than stand round pretending to be black, accents and all LOL
  18. Hi again Doddsy Great that you're enjoying the debate, as Ron said it's nice to actually HAVE an informed even handed debate, without having to resort to the usual crap. Fair play mate Glad that you're adding rabbit skins etc into their diet, why not chuck them the whole thing from time to time? I won't go into further discussion simply because I believe at this point we'd be raking over old ground and we have come to an amicable position. I hear what you're saying about the canned foods (they're the worst!), though just fyi (not starting anything) just do be aware that the k
  19. So very sorry to read of this awful news My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family; rest in peace little fella
  20. Good stuff! Now it's getting interesting Mitosis may well double per 10 degree increase in ambient temperature. Thing is (and this is imho the relevant part) how many 10 degree Celsius increases are you going to find in the UK? We're lucky if the ambient temperature is over a single 10 degrees full stop, never mind an extra 10, and another and so on which would give bacteria a chance to multiply more rapidly LOL So I wouldn't be too worried about huge multiplication in that case. As I stated in the original post, I personally have used road kill only very rarely - freshly killed for
  21. Well, I'm sure the pet food manufacturers would like you to believe so. However I know of absolutely no problems with it. In fact, tripe has a perfect Ca:P ratio and is high in nutrition in a useable form; experts reckon that dogs could live on tripe alone and not much else. Course there's the tooth cleaning issue and so on, but the point being made is it's good tucka nutritionally I'll dig a reference out to some studies on that if you're interested? Best thing though, is to feed tripe (large chunks/whole tripe where possible) as part of a varied balanced diet. That is, whole car
