  1. I'm afraid I agree with ftb on this one ethyl, you seem to be on here purely as some sort of rescue centre superhero. You never contribute anything in regards to hunting but just act as a skycat (no offence to skycat) wanna be. The post you write are drivel and your attitude doesn't seem very work orrientated in regards to dogs more pet like.
  2. Well why put it up if you knew everyone would have a go? Do you enjoy it?
  3. Iv found it to be fairly common, especially dogs with bull as they tend to run blind almost
  4. That's fair enough ftb, down here you couldn't put the same amount of game infront of dogd in different areas of the country. Its like living in cornwall and saying how often does my dog need to catch hares daytime to be a hare dog? If that was the case you'd need to travel atleast 100 miles to even run them daytime
  5. yh I should have looked into it abit more first. Sorry for that lads, daft thing is I know grapes are bad for dogs but forgot raisins are dried grapes
  6. Didn't see the show but that jr looks to be showing aggression. To be honest I think its just the country be sissy nanny state as usual
  7. It is never as simple as that though, perhaps in theory but rarely in practice with a very driven dog. Could not on that particular night anyway, it was light enough for me to be able to see the dogs so the dog would have been able to see the prey even without the lamp. Small fields surrounded with barbed wire fences....been lamping here for enough years now to know what the outcome could have been had i switched the lamp off just my personal opinion what you should have done but I do know myself that actually turning the lamp off when the course is on doesn't normally happen
  8. i will try that mate. cheers. yea f**k sheeling out a cpl hundred quid to tell me its cramp mate.like i said its only on the odd occasion he does it.other than that he is tip top. just looked it up and apparently cramp is caused by 3 main things : - dehydration- lack of potassium - lack of vitamin DSo if you make sure the dogs has plenty of liquid you will combat the dehydration. For the potassium feed raisins, a handful of rasins contains double the amount a banana does. As for vitamin D - milk and sunshine are both great sources. Hope this helps scot, horrible to see your pride and j

  10. Its a good chance it is cramp, make sure the dog drinks regular and possibly put a small amount of electrolytes in his water.
  11. You could turn the light off, at some point the dog and leverett will have a decent gap between them safely in an open part of the field
  12. The blokes a joke! He goes through dogs like sweets the c**t!

    Cheers

Are you three following each other?
  14. I hope this is a joke, only last week you were talking of selling up!
  15. Ivomech is what I've used for last year or so and I really rate the stuff. Used it on the pigeons for years
  16. Has that dog got bull in him? As for the leverett why didn't you turn the lamp off?
  17. Nothin wrong with 6v but its finding a supply
  18. I met you over saltram bow, a few years back now when I was walking with Bulls uncle. So I know you can't do areas to different from the areas I lamp because I know a lot of your cousins, uncles and the lads they run dogs with and have seen zack, rio and heard lots of storys of sarge and the like and I know what you mean but also know that there isn't enough foxes around to put a lot of foxes infront of the dogs everynight of the week. You could possibly put them infront of them daytime if you were to bolt from the clitter but there's no where near enough to get good numbers a season down here
  19. totally agree there mate, especially some of the harder dogs that refuse to let go of where ever they have caught it incase the other dog manages to steal it
  20. Oh and obviousley the foxes will be shot for the dog to retrieve so it will be even easier than pre-ban
  21. ... half the test with a fox is catching prior to dispatching. Bring the dog down if you like and well see how it does. NO crying when it speys though!
  22. I don't doubt it but you can't tell how good a dog I'd from running a piece of mop
  23. A lot of difference between a fast dog and a good dog
  24. Your probably the same person midland and bedlinton. As for spewing his beddy cross I'd do it in a night and it would even be a test for some dogs .
