  1. In my opinion that pup shouldn't even exist yet
  2. What difference does that make exactly collie/grey?
  3. I think its down to the owner and the dog. As for tested to the max you'll only ever know that when it quits its job.
  4. no its ok it will bring the gear back live to hand lol what difference does that make? Some of the hardest dogs iv witnessed work would still return the humble bunny like they had an egg they didn't want to smash. How do you train a dog to just stop chasing? I can understand stock breaking a dog but game breaking, to me its a pointless thing. If you don't want to catch it don't run it
  5. So this is a bullxgreyhound? I'd be suspicious of a dog that was able to be called off game especially a dog that had bull in it.
  6. Technically its not but in a practical sense it is the same thing as hybrid vigour. I was talking to a man that kept very good bulls in the late 80s and he was saying that when they cross 2 lines of bull, he used the example of tomstone x bolio (think it was that but I'm not a bull man ), that you get the same sort of thing as hybrid vigour but within a breed.
  7. If you can do that your a better dogman then ill ever be because I wouldn't even know where to start
  8. visited a friend that lives not far from the sandringham (sorry if that's mispelt) estate and saw close to a hundred in a single night maybe more. Counted 14 on 1 field
  9. That's a silly statement in my opinion, of course greyhounds can take all quarry
  10. I was talking to ban is just a word when I was talking about the word game
  11. Have weighed a few and the heaviest was 21 lb
  12. Thanks lads, hopefully the young ones on the poachers pocket will take the time to read this
  13. I'm not going to go into it but dog fighting is a lot more then just a dog ripping anothers throat out
  14. Well done lads on what sounds like a good night, what cross are the dogs?
  15. if someone near me was to desribe a lurcher as game they would be refering to an adult dog that had done a few seasons on fox and bigger things like large fallow or red. Never would any of the people I associate myself with ever describe a sapling let alone a pup as game
  16. Your right mate I'm not trying to belittle them in any way, shape or form. They keep banging on about these game dogs when in all fairness if they'd ever seen a true game dog they'd be a little less inclined to use it. I don't think they'd use a bullxgreyhound to its full ability if they describe bedlington crosses as game
  17. Johnny I think its pointless you trying to explain to these lads, they're clearly don't understand the point your trying to make. As for having the dog a few days if he has been out and tested it he could have said the dog has good tenacity. I personally think that could be proved in a week
  18. Horses for courses lads but I don't think this type of dog would be any good for me
  19. I'd expect 30-40 foxes to be infront of the dog, countless rabbits really, around 60 or so hares and probably 30-60 hares. I go out every sat without fail but get out as often as possible aswell
  20. Seen a young lad try to climb a gate that he hadn't checked, he got both feet 3 rungs up and it fell. He went flat on his face in the mud. Turns out the gate was just lent to
  21. So these "game as f**k" poachers pocket lurchers are yappers then? he seems to ignore what he doesn't like johnny I know mate...........I've never heard a collie x yap! to be honest I've only seen bedlingtons yap barring one bullxgreyhound but that was frustration when calling not running
