  1. surelan i think its called, wee small white container, works on my own ferrets
  2. Sorry Geoff, here's to your memomorys
  3. I've tried and tested this before, the hob will only be after one thing lads and it ain't Bunny's. An absolulute waste of time letting the hob hunt with jills this time of the year, having said that,I'm in Ireland and our ferrets are in full season . Kenny
  4. Hoping to have kits mid June if your still about
  5. Its close alrite meat,it happened to me accidentally a while back, have to say ,they were great workers and never had bother, but tbh I would've preferred a bit more distant relative .ie.mother to grandson maybe.but yeah if you have great workers, then keep it in the family!me thinks
  6. Right lads, firstly your Jill won't die due to not getting her mated.keep her hutch clean( no infections).if you do want to take her out of season ,take her to the vets for the Jill jab(delfostoren).the other young Jill that is preggo isn't ideal mate but it is what it is now . She will be grand .her maternal instincts will kick in during the latter stages of her pregnancy
  7. Pure con that,I seen albino ferrets in a pet shop in Sligo a couple of years ago ,3 months old for 60 quid
  8. I've ferreted places where the stoat always looked to bolt,I was doing the sand dunes one day and unbelievably this stoat bolted carrying a young one to another burrow, but that wasn't the end of it she returned five times to the burrows I was doing and rescued 6 young ones.I thought it was the bravest act ever as I had 4 hills working the burrow at the time.just getting back to the point, she wasn't going to hold her ground.now a doe rat sitting on a nest of young she'll fight like goodo.that's your suspect bud Kenny
  9. I'd buy the DVD no problem!quality viewing there rew.I'd love to do that kind of work, very rewarding. Kenny
  10. Great advertisement for the working whippet.as said before, pics tell a thousand words
  11. Make sure the jills are well in season( swollen vulva).also check that your hob testes are swollen also.put the Jill in wit your hob and leave them to it .don't be panicked at screeching from the Jill,it will be rough.I leave her in overnite and then remove her so she doesn't get hurt as the hob will still want to mate with her.the day I remove her I count from that day as being day one of the 42 days of pregnancy .may vary .make sure the Jill has plenty bedding near her time.best of luck
  12. Well put together mate,I couldn't access the first video due to some error. what's in the brindle dog you have rew. Kenny
  13. A good average sized Jill or 2 will tackle a single rat .again its a an experienced Jill I'd use,.if I had a smallish hob I'd use him too,but I don't have a smallish hob.ratty won't stick around for a fight unless absolutely cornered or is protecting a nest, the experienced ferret will win the fight, however check for any bite marks on the ferret and if so ,best get it seen to.also never use an in season Jill as she's more susceptible to pick up an infection from rats urine.hope this helps
  14. I've often had to get rats out of sheds on a couple of occasions, middled sized jills with 2 or more yrs experience is my preferred option.once the ferret picks up the trail get ready ,old ratty won't hang about ,a good terrier at the door will take care of him.
  15. Great pics as always, ever think of going pro?honestly, great advertisement for the working whippets.
  16. Some good advice on there guys.my problem is the ferret trying to nip at the pup,I managed to stop them doing so,so far.
  17. Where are you from fay ? I might be downsizing soon,I'm in Donegal.
  18. Alrite lads ,just a quick question .does anybody know of anyone breeding these whippets here in Ireland Kenny
  19. If I put them together today, then I'll count the 42 days from tomorrow, never too far out.
  20. Alrite lads ,and maybe only the whippet lads can really answer this ,for a good lamping and ferreting whippet, would they need to be over the 20" mark.surely a more leggy whippet would cover ground faster?.
  21. Plenty of shredded paper in the box, it will run it course.try cut out any drafts too.
