  1. gross, unattractive and pointless. but to each their own eh?
  2. HAre loin is the most incredible meat!!!!!! Stew the rest by all means, but do the loins seasoned and rare ferchrissakes. Even in a butterfly batter, with seasoning done hot and crispy on the outside, soft in the middle they are gorgeous.
  3. Had it and liked it - open mind, open mouth! (or so I tell the girls lol)

  6. Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice. I've dried a few rabbit skins with salt and they came out well. I scraped them and smoothed them off then rubbed any salt off with a damp cloth and applied neats foot oil, rubbed it in and bent the skin back and forth. It was a bit more flexible, still fairly stiff and makes a crinkly noise. Any advice on how to get it crinkle free? I'd really appreciate any advice! Many thanks, Duncan
  7. 7 years and 1 month for me on sunday - mostly don't think about them, but admit to still occasionally fancying one. Wouldn't start again though now.
  8. Couldnt live with the looks or leaky reputation. I knew far too many shooters who had leaky rapids when I was on the FT circuit.
  9. Sounds like the 'Ranger still wins it for me then - I've always preferred heavier guns and rifles. Thanks for the input Ps - buy both? When the .243 is added as well as an fac airgun, my cabinet will be maxed out lol!
  10. I'm not too far from you, I'm sure I can help out - over near Newport Pagnell, North Bucks. If you are up for it, I can take you out and hunt small game with you. Cheers D.
  11. Thanks guys - really appreciate your input. Looks like the Air Ranger is the clear favourite. I'm glad really because my heart was behind the daystate anyway (beautiful stock).
  12. Has anyone owned the mentioned rifles in fac format? I'm weighing up the options and could do with some practical experience of these two. Many thanks for any useful answers Duncan
  13. Likewise Ned, really glad to have you back posting again. I think with your experiences it would be almost rude not to write a book. All the best Duncan
  14. The mrs was asking for a double-entendre, so I gave her one

  15. Sometimes cooking is just about having a go. The burger looks very tasty
  16. That looks great and I will give it a go. Not sold on the crisps, but open mind, open mouth eh?
  17. 1 rifleman, 1 lampman works best for me. I just watch from the car
  18. about a teaspoon of salt per litre of water seems to work for me. I put a tablespoon of white wine vinegar in per litre as well. Brings out the sweetness of the meat.
  19. For me, I fry them 2 1/2 mins a side in a hot pan, then let them rest for another 2 or 3 minutes. They are pink in the middle and very tender. Until a few years ago I was one for having any meat medium to well done, but now I feel like a proper grown up with medium rare lol.
  20. Well while you're up, pour me one would you?
