a shy and subservient dog may help to bring a less shy dog out of its self IME, but really it sounds to me like the dog needs some one on one time with an informed pack-leader to develop trust and confidence in the human relationship. Is there a good remedial dog trainer nearer to you who could have a look?

Now I'm satisfied that it's legal to home slaughter your own sheep according to HSA, what. The bet method? Someone mentioned .410, but what cartridge, and where to put the muzzle? Would a .22lr sub be as effective?

I'd clarify that with your firearms dept. Do it by email, then you've always got proof as to what has been said. I keep all my land calibre clearance emails, until I get my ticket opened of course (soon hopefully).
