Another part of the working dog scene gone to the history books! As said above I always enjoyed the mag and the books he came across as terrier man first and a writer second, well done Dave for all the hard work over the years! Did anyone show any interest in taking it on in the end?

have terriers in a whole got a lot bigger than they used to be, remember growing up my old mans terriers was half the size of what’s I kennel today, and when I started going with the hounds as a young lad most of the hunt terriers was small/handy little things,a dog for a job, I don’t know BN at all or his dogs but maybe he just wanted to produce a smaller type of terrier for a certain type of earth work maybe, just my opinion.

A young meg ( bred by a lad on here) probably the strangest dog I’ll ever own, this little dog Would give it’s all and had to be carried back to the van a fair few times, and held some nasty game, then next time she was out she would have a complete shocker and left me red faced ! a few to many times if I’m honest, but I liked the dog and she stayed,

Bunch of fannys? bit of a strong comment considering you don’t know any of us and you definitely don’t know me. Have you spent hours driving up and down the county sat hours in AGMs? Give up countless hours setting up stalls at show speaking to hundreds of people educating them about the pros of terrier work and explaining we aren’t what the antis say we are, honest question have you done that? Spent hours an hours digging out stuck terriers out all in the name of promoting terrier work, now I don’t want a thank you off any f****r because I only play a small part I’m a tiny part

I personally like seeing chesneys dogs there cracking stamp of terrier that he clearly takes pride in and he’s a regular poster on this site and it would be a worse place with out him. The pic I commented on was a close up of a dogs face, now I don’t know the lad and am sure he’s a sound lad if that pic was taken 6 foot back it in my opinion it would of been more tasteful but it’s not my dog or my pic I was only passing comment, chesneys pics to me are always of dogs on a lead and not a zoomed in pic of the face (not what iv seen anyway) there is a lot of hard work done by a very few ded

I can’t cant comment on any of the above, my comment was I wouldn’t take a close up pic of a dogs face when freshly worked.dog looks really well and cleaned up and looked after. Unfortunately it’s a shit situation we live in that we even need to have this debate about what the antis would think,But unfortunately we do.

Think it already has mate in certain circles, lads throwing daft money at certain lines of terriers. We live i an age where money can be earned easily so a couple of grand for a terrier is nothing to some folk.
