  1. I used to own a 21" whippet greyhound x saluki grey collie whippet. It would run terrible on rabbits totally half hearted but fox and deer it gave 110%. I had to dispatch them when it caught them tho.
  2. Thanks for that, but it's a bitch in after. I don't think I would own another dog again. I have a dog here and he's a dirty f***** pisses all over the kids toys in the garden and anything that's new!
  3. My dog us 2 n half and not started yet! Hopefully this year
  4. this would be a good addition to the terriers for mooching about so thinking about one. Anyone planning or know of any litters coming up
  5. That's a big litter for a border, have you got them working homes to go to mate?
  6. When breeding terriers at which point does the line become your own. Alot if lines spoke about always seem to come from years ago. I would say if you bred a litter of pups yourself then those pups are from your own line. You are the one that chose the dog/bitch to be put to and know what you want from the pups. What are people's thoughts on this.
  7. Iv had an s410 and weirauch 100k and didn't like them, tried the ultra and it's the best gun iv fired in my opinion.
  8. Whats buttery champ haha? Sounds good tho
  9. Sounds good il give it a try, anyone anymore.
  10. Anyone got some good pigeon recipes?
  11. My oldes bitch is one of the best dogs I have ever owned. I have never taken a litter from her and would love a pup from her to carry her genes on. I'm worried 7 is to old for a first litter. Is it wirtj the risk at this stage of her life. I have her half brother here so a pup from him will still carry some of her traits hopefully do all is not lost if I decide not to breed. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  12. Very nice dog mate, how tall is he and do you have a picture side on ? big ozzy 001.JPG 5091659338a12630695669l.jpg big ozzy.jpg ozwald.jpg That's one of the smartest dogs iv seen
  13. I don't know about hawks --but when I got back into the dogs I made being self employed work for me .... I understand with a baby due and work taking off how you feel but you still have to make time for yourself whatever your chosen sport/hobby is you need that out let ...atb for the future whatever you chose to do Your right bud but I don't think the amount of time id manage would be fair to a hawk. I would still go out with the terriers n hounds and fit a bit of shooting in.
  14. Iv got someone who can fly him everyday bud. It's just down to me making the final decision.
  15. Thanks guys, some good advice. I'm glad other people have been un the same position. Right now my frame of mind is work, work work but i know the day will come that Il regret Moving him on. It's a male Harris I have. Do you think it is worth keeping to fly 1 or 2 days for a couple of hours a week?
  16. I am due a newborn in january and Work seems to be taking off big time and I am struggling to manage, family, work and hunting time. I am self employed and have my own small building company and things are taking off and I find myself with less and less time. It's not fair on my hawk sitting in an aviary everyday even tho he's free lofted I'd rather he was out flying. Has anyone been in the same situation and how did they manage? The fair thing would be find the hawk a good home but I know I'd regret it on quiet days. Any advice is welcome
  17. For bushing and mooching around surley these would do a job.
