  1. Couple of snaps of the young dog. Bulked up a bit and come together nicely now he's matured. 24ish tts a very quick dog. Out with the pack
  2. Clear you inbox you have pm ?
  3. A few night ago the wind was blowing hard and we took the dogs for a spin up the road here for a few rabbits. Now these rabbits were well out on small arable fields. Most fields were on hillsides. You need to catch these rabbits quick before they are at top speed and over the hill and out the beam. The youngster missed a couple but soon 'clicked' that that it was a strike early and catch them quick type of situation. Great to watch lots of tumbling catches, he did well and sure has some speed about him. And I was impressed to see some tidy speedy retrieves considering we had another dog with
  4. Ain't that the truth but I don't think aggression is the right word. A good gwp can be one hell of a dog. My good mates line of dogs has produced some crackers, done well in the field from stalking to falconry and more. Great rough shooting dog and will whack a fox at the blink of an eye. These dogs are true HPR's, they will never beat a Lurcher at doing what lurchers do, but hell they are a very useful animal. Not to be underestimated in my opinion. The smooths are differnt to the wires, the wires tend to be a bit tougher.
  5. Fingers crossed he will. If he carries on the way he's going I will be more than happy.
  6. Thanks for posting up the snaps Phil, I enjoyed the wonder about. Nice easy going day. Really happy the youngster caught a few more, not much seems to get away from him so far. He's fit and in good nick but as many dogmen know its hard to keep that balance right.
  7. There are hedges and there are HEDGES. All differnt, but down here in the south west many are thick as hell and on top of a bank. I genuinely dont bother with some places as there are better methods to whack the varmints After all rabbits will often run the hedge rather than break out into a open field. However I dont think you can beat either a low small stop net or a large double pegged pursenet set on a run. Short of that you can block it off, but that doesnt always lead to rabbits in the bag eh
  8. Have you already paid the grand and now waiting to be reimbursed?Yes but it does depend on your vets

  17. No not any hancock that I know about, or if so must be generations back, but other on here whould know more. Not that hancock blood bothers me at all if its a good dog.
  18. What ever you do, get a dog from parents doing the job. It's usually best. I prefer a good splash of collie.
