  1. Do it the proper way and buy a pup, rear it, nuture it, bond with it, train it and enter it slowly rather than try to buy a ready made hunter. If everyone did this then there wouldn't be a market for adult dogs to be passed from pillar to post and it would also cut down on alot of dog thefts if they had nowhere to sell them on to
  2. Read something a fair while ago about dry dusty earths and lack of air and being potential death traps for terriers but can't really remember much more about the article, maybe someone could elaborate more
  3. They can say what the feck they like in CMW from now on, seeing as they put the price up i won't be buying it anymore
  4. Think one of the biggest problems the negative posters have on here is they are jealous of you having the permission to do it in the first place
  5. Definately not sporting and definately no fieldcraft..............not hunters imo just idiots
  6. Each to their own but.................a good ferreting dog is harder to come by, not something that is bought and sold, a dog that isn't made in one season, or even two seasons. Anyone can have a point and slip dog but how many have the right temperament to bring on a damn good ferreting dog? A dog that needs a high level of intelligence, patience and bond with it's owner
  7. It wasn't the East Lincs Harehounds was it? Seen them a couple of times over the years and they hunted like feck with an amazing voice to them, could stick to a line like glue and were suprisingly quick for their size and build..................apparently evil buggers in kennels and had the scars to prove it
  8. Drove 200 miles to see a litter of "working beddie pups" both parents doing the business week in week out and available to view, got there an hour earlier than i said i would, sire nowhere to be seen, dam in kennel out the way which i couldn't get to see as his other dogs "would have me", pup brought out and put down on the grass and just froze..........never been out it's bed in 7 weeks of it's life!! Totally withdrew into itself, other pup that "was" available had been sold over the phone so he didn't want to show me it until i insisted. Took pup back into it's bed where it felt secure and t
  9. Wouldn't want a 1st cross anything.........as far as a lurcher goes pretty much untested parents and the ones i've seen (several different crosses) have been one paced and seem to lack that extra gear
  10. A wise man speaks cos he has something to say.............a fool speaks cos he has to say something
  11. It's the ignorance of some of them when you do slow down and don't get so much as a thankyou wave!! It's fun in a waggon tho.........cos you had to slow down on the brakes and use the gears the air starts to build up again as you're waiting to get past them then all of a sudden the valve blows off and makes the horses jump like feck and they think you did it on purpose
  12. Here we go again, another tv ad to remind people to report anyone they see with a running dog or a terrier in the countryside
  13. Think he got 18 months last time, seems like the whole ring has been cracked this time but to how big a part the old boy played this time, we'll have to see what the outcome is. Certainly a charactor and if his only crime in life is supplying the working dog lads with a few antibiotics then i feel it's a sad state of affairs
  14. No Moll, he's already been inside for the same thing before.......was a few years ago now
  15. http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/Lincolnshire-pensioner-admits-pound-6m-drugs/story-12913528-detail/story.html Hope they show leniancy towards him at his age
  16. Don't just order it mate, send some articles in..........love reading the overseas stuff
  17. Lovely looking bitch, well done for giving her a good home and hope you have alot of fun together
  18. Try a radio, got one in my kennels, doesn't have to be loud (noise travels further at night) but was recommended to try one for one of my whingers and he's much quieter now
  19. Does some cracking deals on books, i got world of the working terrier from him at harewood for £20
  20. Nice one Ray, you'll have him baying up trees like a fecking redbone next That big fecker of mine walks through trees looking up all the time now
  21. Go on Ray.........you know you want it really
  22. Now that's a lovely strong looking pup if i ever saw one, all the very best with him and hope he steps up to the plate and exceeds your expectations
  23. Had a hob snipped this year and it cost me £70, the jill jab i had done last year on all but the one jill i bred off cost me £2 each My vet told me castration was alot cheaper so i'd make sure the vet knows exactly what you want done first
