  1. Hi Gareth,I am using .22 daystate range master h.e .J.B turned the shroud into a silencer and then milled the twink down for a flush fit, making it very quite.
  2. Hi Ronin,it is a personal thing mate, mine is the mk1 and i had no problems at all with it.I had the full works done by J.B including his own reg fitted, simply to make a great rifle that little bit better. As for the mk2 r10 there an awesome rifle straight out the box mate. try this link for up to date prices and services http://www.johnbowkett.co.uk/
  3. Orion steady pic from scs astro is exactly the same as the seben £40
  4. Great shooting on them woodies Daz.Looks like a top permission you have there.that stock looks the nuts mate..
  5. Nice shooting lads, bet it do's go of with a fair crack gary, sounds like a modified twink is in order.
  6. Thanks for the comments lads.Tony what an answer to a question, couldn't have put it better if i tried. What a manky rabbit that third rabbit was mate, didn't like picking it up.Hi Si just checked my cam manual and it has o.i.s and hybrid o.i.s (optical image stabilizer) which are turned on in default setting .Just ordered a better step down adapter so next time i will turn off the o.i.s and see if there is a noticeable difference.
  7. Went up to the permission with the intention of shooting a few rabbits for a mates harris hawk.I decided to give the scopecam a go as i haven't done it for a while.Every time i go up there seems to be more rabbits, today i did see a lot more young about even got to within 2 feet of some of them. There was also a lot of woodies about and i even saw a couple of squirrels .Any way i did manage to bag 3 rabbits for my mate ,2 at 35 mtr's and the furthest was the youngster taken at 41 mtrs.Without the scopecam i could have trebled the bag, but had fun trying it again and bagged what i needed.....Ste
  8. Happy days Gary, the evo's spot on. Be interested to know what ft/lb it's putting out since the reg refurb...Ste
  9. Very nice Daz,two less nest robbers to worry about.
  10. Hi mate ,if you've got a piece of old film negative cut a piece of a place underneath the scope of the rear mount(nearest your eye) this worked for me .
  11. excellent shooting si,and a great documentation of what a sub 12ft/lb air rifle is capable of in the right hands and the right conditions.i now my limit as do most of the regulars on the THL forum,i now have an insight of what my rifle is capable of.Hats of to you Si for posting such a touche subject,i for one appreciate all the time and effort you and davey put in .keep it up mate...Ste
  12. Thanks Daz,still getting to grips with the .177.At least one of us is hitting them magies, keep it up mate because it won't be long untill the song birds are nesting.
  13. Thanks Stevo,I seem to see most older ones out early afternoon .Then in the evening all the young ones are out playing .All over the permission there's holes with fresh bedding material for the next batch.
  14. Thanks for the comments lads .100% with you on that slugger, just great being in the countryside when the weathers like this,if you manage to get something for the pot then that's a bonus.Si the more i use the huggett the more impressed i am with it,dry fired it yesterday a couple of times at rabbits no further than 45 mtr's and they never looked up/moved.Hi Stealthy1 that pasture is probably the best one for early evening, later on the fir trees attract the woodies to roost, making stalking up rabbits very difficult. But there are more pasture's that hold as many rabbits
  15. Was having one of those days today where i couldn't just get it right. But because i was going for head shots they where all cleanly missed and be there for another day.The first shot was a feral sat on beam in one of the barns cleanly killed with a head shot (25 mtr). The second shot was at a magpie at a range of 45 mtr's the pellet whizzed a fraction over its head.I then slowly walked up one of fields where i sat and watched some bunnies playing in the warm evening (didn't notice at the time but on looking at the footage i saw i white cat,i saw it again later in the evening stalking the rabbit
  16. Nice shooting Si,could have done with you today ,Had one of those days where i just couldn't get it right

  18. Nice shooting gary, good to see your back. Some big bunnies there....Ste
  19. Hi rob,i ordered the huggett shroud/silencer from milbro and picked it up at the newark gun show.Lot of back orders so if any ones after one phone milbro.Had a mk4 silencer on my mk4 daystate but suffered from pellet clip changed it for a twink ,no pellet clip, and alot quieter .The lads at B.A.R did a comparison between the mk4/mk5 and found that the mk5 sounded louder,so i left it and bought the X3 (twink)
  20. Thanks for the comment ftm, when im static shooting i do get a lot more time to take the shot.
  21. Defo si ,its looking like i'll get up there sat afternoon
  22. Hi Bill matey, thought i couldn't see it hiding behind that nettle. The hedgeline were i shot it was full of young uns later on in the evening.Going to give it a rest on the rabbits for a while ,until theres more cover .Been following your thread on the N.V unit look forward to see some footage when you get your digital recorder
  23. Cheers si for your kind words.still getting to grips with.the 177,Must admit i did miss a few, cold finger on a sensitive trigger,to much hold over, but thats the best thing about taking the head shot,if you miss its there for another day. You've an open invite any time si once your sorted work wise.
