  1. I heard that on the news too, that he`d been offered a coaching role at united..... He was one of Englands best midfielders, a position that has been difficult to get right since he retired from England matches Mars....
  2. Buried my Uncle last week " Derek Bowen " as a lad i used to help him out now and then with his Greyhounds and pigeons And he would tell me tales of the odd times that he used to box in these booths to raise a bit of cash, he apparently was quite handy in his day, and used to box for the army Mars...

  6. an all rounder the dog that could be worked in a variety of hunting situations against all quarry and put up a creditable performance, that may be ferreting and lamping bunnies, working alongside terriers on a dig or lamping Charlie on a sleety December morning, pulling daytime deer of varying species, For me it`s the above as you wrote.... I.M.O. a dog that could have done hare "Pre Ban" given fair law is a specialist dog.... Not saying that dogs that did all of the above wouldn`t have caught the odd hare but as you said would they have caught enough to be classed as competent... Mar

  14. Mars: that doesn't really help you at all does it! Maybe you have just bonded too well with your pup. Does she whine if she's in the kennel with another dog? If so, then I don't know what to suggest, assuming you've tried the water treatment. I must admit her dad was a whinger as a pup, but he was able to run free at home, in the house and garden. When he was about a year old I could start to leave him in a kennel if I needed to: Saluki things are a bit weird like that. You have to work round their peculiarities. Dont get me wrong she`s a great dog, and yes i`ve tried the wat
  15. Sounds like yours are coming on great Skycat... Do you think perhaps you are more used to Saluki types, and so are more used to their traits and thus you are more inclined to train in accordingly without even thinking about it....?? My pup is doing ok... she will retrieve close to me but doesn`t really want to give up her prize to me, Sit is good, stay she`ll do for a short while and she will walk to heel of lead IF i keep a close eye on her.... She loves to use her nose learning from my dog Good scents to follow, Just the other week the two of them dived into a large hedge after

  19. I dont know if my own experience of the wheaton X qualifies me to comment as the litter i bred was only 1/4 wheaton... I did find what i believe was a decent sire wheaton/grey similar in size and build to cleanspades dog.. and put it to my 23" bull X bitch. My hope was for somthing as game as a Bull X with a rough coat the litter was around 50/50 split regards the rough coat, temprement wise some were early starters, and others were slow to cotton on.. and from the people that have kept in touch they have all commented on how willing they are to scrap with another dog if provoked So
  20. tell davie no probs here's a better pic. one of the finest first crosses ive seen in many years. hey davie When i bred my bitch...3 Years back..??? I did consider Beddy/Grey But as you may remember i ended up going with Wheaton/Grey although my absolute 1st choice would have been an Airedale/grey though they are as rare as hens teeth I agree she`s a nice bitch, but i have to ask where do you think that Black n Tan colouring comes from....??? I had one in the litter that i bred too { Wheaton/Grey } I would have expected this colouring if i`de found an Airedale/G
