  1. Hi welcome to the forum! i actually got a shoot by doing some work for a guy (im a tiler/plasterer with my dad) and he gave me a chance.. however that was just to get me started...it took me AGES to get somewhere without knowing the right person. I got my first gun at 19, im only 23 (on saterday) however i now have 4 large permissions and 2 small where i can shoot, ferret and use the dog...and awaiting more (farmers passing my names on to neighbouring farmers).... Getting insurance with BASC helped, it showed im not just someone who fancied getting a gun and shooting stuff. It showed im re

  5. At the moment on the floor of the hutchest I've been using the wood pellets from Pets at Home, but they are getting more and more expensive and I go through alot! It's pretty good stuff it sokes up alot and is mostly dust free. But what else could I use that maybe a cheaper option? Also, for the outside run i will be making, what could i use on the floor there? It's going to be concrete but I am not sure if I should put some kind of flooring on, all I can think is that most stuff could just blow around. Will just concrete be OK? Thanks.
  6. yea a couple days after i got them i had to split them up ones got a chunk of ear missing due to it. they dont seem bored or miserable.. they do get a bit excited when i go into the shed though .. im making an 6ft x 4ft x 3ft outside playing area hopefully they will be ok together in there.. shame really
  7. i agree but unfortunatly my 2 hobs rag each other about when there in the same hutch i have to keep them apart.. there fine as long as there not in the same hutch.. like out in the field etc. =(
  8. yep, as 2bob said.. best way is to tag along with someone theres alot of people who are willing to take a person along as long as they muk in like... nout worse than someone asking to go along and then stood back.. *shudders* texting! or whatever

  10. first time i ever went ferreting was before i had my ferrets, it was with a lad who has helped me alot.. we got 22 and he said that was a bad day on that farm..most ive got with mine on one outing is 11, but only started beggining of the year so plenty time to get that higher
  11. not sure really but that last pic the one looking towards me ended up walking to where you see the tyre track.. so really close.. then the male ran passed me give a strange noise and they all bolted. i was sat watching for a good hour n a half thanks for the comments.. kinda embarrasing putting my pictures up amongst all your really high quality ones.
  12. my pictures are no where near as good as any of yours im no photographer by any means.. i have a decent digital camra but thats it.. thought id share this family of foxes on one of the farms i go to (i dont have a reason to get rid of them farmer doesnt mind them) this is when i first noticed them sneaking towards them.. sat down for a bit to calm them Fox pile on! this is as close as i could get before the male ran past my lag with a strange noise and i thought that was my limit Like i say im no photographer but i take my digi cam where ever i go and enjoy taking pic
  13. it wasnt wrong! where you at mate? its pissing it down here on the outskirts of leicester lol Durham.. its been stinkin hot for 2 days now, both days have had about 10 minuts of really heavy rain then it dries up in seconds due to the heat

  15. Looks good! Wish my mates were into the same stuff I am. I would love to just f*** off away for a couple days and live off what i could forage/hunt. Theres a pretty decent sized wood in one of the farms I have a permission, I would try that first haha. Cant wait till' the baby is born and a bit older, hopefully she will be into all that stuff and I will have someone to do that kind of stuff with! No chance of getting anything sorted soon though due to awaiting MRI results on my foot and unable to walk without alot of pain
