Pure bred working line German Shepherd bitch pup Zara. Had a GS dog before, he came out mooching all time but was primarily a guard dog. Zara got same job description, family guard and protector but available on mooching days to jump in.

Loving this book. Not finished it yet but big thing jumping out so far is how quickly and permanently the show fraternity ruined working breeds. Within a few yrs of the first pedigree show working breeds began to suffer. The smooth and wired hair fox terrier which were the absolute "go to" for digging were very soon in only a decade or so ruined by the obsession with rosettes and pedigree. Great book.

Got a couple of good walking sticks, bark still on most of em. What's the best varnish or preserve or oil to paint em with?

Ya need big country and friendly locals for full hounds otherwise xs are best imo.

Hounds if plenty of ground...half xs if ground is tight. I hunted harriers for yrs but couldn't now with the permission I have. Half xs for small patches. Even full beaglea too much for some country

Last day today. Went to to permission I hadn't been to in over 10yrs. Forgot how good it was, acres of gorse and cover. Had two good hunts and saw couple of basils. Poor Floyd got couple of bangs off electric fences and went all down in himself and stopped hunting so I finished up earlier than we wanted, still some lovely covers to do but we'll get em next yr. Good season all in all. Got out every Sunday and an odd evening/night mooch during the week. Few rabbits bagged, plenty of rats shook and plenty of good bushing and trailing at rabbits, basils and big ears. Time for walks along the

Good mooch locally today. Just Floyd n Cú out. Floyd worked well all day flushed plenty of game birds, big ears and cotton tails. Good trailing long loops on puss and good work in briars at bunnies. Got got marks at rats. One bolted and he caught him in the briars, one mark 3 bolted and gave us the slip and last mark we killed 2 big fat rats. Was chuffed with last mark, in a muck hill with lots of tubes and very loose clay, as you digging clay just falls in covering tubes and making it to mark rats. Floyd stuck at it, kept scratching and searching and finally found two big rats in a tube that
