  1. This lads farm right beside Tallaght in Dublin I'm sure he was plagued with c**ts illegally hunting and lamping. Definitely there's was a real class distinction made during the trail, the acccused a wealthy barrister the dead man just a rough badger digger from near by council estates. I knew the barrister would walk. I don't think videos on his phone that had nothing to do with the event should have been allowed into evidence but it wasn't contested as far as I know. Are we sympathetic because we've all been on land we shouldn't be doing a bit of mooching? If we weren't hunters wou
  2. Still a pup. Hold him back few months
  3. Really cold here today. Bangers n mash. Fry the sausages in butter with few splashes of Worcestershire sauce. Mash gets plenty of butter and salt n pepper. Gravy always gets a teaspoon of English mustard mixed in.
  4. Good day mooching today, beautiful day but cold, that definitely helped put rats in the ground. Floyd got diseased rabbit in cover, 4 rats from two marks, pair in each burrow. Flushed few big ears and young Luna showing more good scent work and throwing the tongue well not too early and with better noise. Plenty of birds flushed too. Dogs were busy all day, were out for good 5hrs, they never stopped. Lurcher really showing his age but he loves the exercise.
  5. Different lads here but basically bushing and mooching rabbits with a bobbery pack of all sorts and types of terriers/beagles and lurchers.
  6. Just lads in the fields having the craic mooching.
  7. Reminds me of when we were kids, loads of us down the local fields carrying sticks with a motley crew of dogs off the street.
  8. Came across these lads in Chile. Basically mooching with a bobbery pack n running dogs
  9. Hard to get working lines in Ireland though.
  10. My terrier has border in him and I've had borderxwheaten in the past, 20 years ago. Definitely be interested in one in the future for mooching.
  11. Happy new yr hunters. Look after your dogs and enjoy the fields, woods, mountains for another yr.
  12. Zero effort party bits....outta freezer into the air fryer..... tasty but....washed down with Guinness.
  13. I keep mine in the house the last few yrs got rid of kennels once I didn't keep hounds anymore. My dogs all pets/workers so live in the house. But mine were two blocks high with wire mesh up to six feet. Concrete base with gully/trap tied into sewer. The blocks ment that when hosing down none of the dirty water went into the garden. Be sure the concrete is well smoothed and falls towards the drain otherwise you'll end up with puddles of piss constantly in the run, puss smells worse than shit. Good kennels with wooden bases, no bedding. Was my ideal kennels. Wish I'd a pic. Tore em down t
  14. I prefer kennels open to air unless you're getting your dogs out every single day.
  15. Personally never used bedding. It's messy and attracts parasites, wood is good enough, definitely not concrete cos it's sucks the heat out. So a wooden base in a concrete kennel.
  16. I think the obsession with genetics and looks and breeds are relatively new, nearly 1900s before that only function mattered and most breeds were purely local types that were bred with other local types.
  17. Lovely pups. They're for mooching/ratting or more traditional terrier type work?
  18. Make sure you put drains in and connect to sewers, makes cleaning em and hosing down alot easier.
  19. Bolted few rabbits, good to see em make small comeback on this particular land cos they were almost annihilated by disease last yr. Plenty of signs and smell of reynard bout but never seen one, probably in holes mating now.
  20. 9 yrs old and with a gammy leg but he tries and that's enough for me
  21. I've looked on line can't find anything that even mentions working. Pipe dream really as much as I'd like a native breed working ability comes first.
  22. Lamb kidneys, blue cheese and ploughman pickle. Then lamb rack cooked whole then put into chops and buttery well seasoned mash. Needed something decent after few days of turkey sambos, take aways and shite.
  23. 46 in March. Hunting and keeping working dogs since I was 12.
