  1. Have a good look at the pic lads, he's a lump of a pup and looks 21" all day long. .
  2. The lad has already said he got it to the vets as soon as he could. Maybe town vets are different [as in having a vet in the practice all day] but in the village I live all the vets are out doing their rounds during the day from 10am untill 4pm and I can't see them scurrying back to the practice if the receptionist phoned them to say someone wanted their ferret checked out.
  3. Read post 10 on this thread. The ferret is already dead.
  4. The last 3 dogs I've had ended up 24" and at 14 weeks they stood 17", 17.25" and 17.75", so I'd guess 26"+ for your fella, he's a lump o' a pup for 14 weeks.
  5. Improvement, how can you improve on being dead? Take it you didn't read the whole thread?
  6. There might not be anyone on here with a veterinarian qualification but some will have had more experiences with ferrets as some vets will have had so I can't see how asking for advice can do any harm. Also it might not be a case of waiting for replies before going to a vets as some vets only have appointments twice a day say 9-10am then 4-6pm the rest of the time they're often out doing the rounds.
  7. I agree lads, but is that all folk can think to reply with on these threads? It's not always practical to get an animal straight to the vet and with things like ferrets which we all know fly downhill rapidly, experienced ferret keepers should at least be able to give some help on how best to handle a sick animal until such time as it can be taken to a vet.. That's what I was thinking malt, easy answer is to post "vets" but in some instances it's not possible to get to the vets right away so someone on here with past experiences could give some pointers of what can be done untill the
  8. Well done Laurie, the teams starting to come together. And what a difference a few pics make.
  9. You boys will have to sharpen up a bit, you're letting the ferrets down. Seriously though, well done on the days bag.
  10. Aye 'cos you didn't give them your money. Did the mk1 box give up the ghost or did you just decide to shake off the dinosaur tag?
  11. Think you've answered your own question mate, if it's the same injury then no you haven't given her long enough off. Have you checked her over to find out exactly where she's injured? You say lower front leg, could it be her wrist? If you're not sure how to check her over could anyone else do it for you. As for giving her anything or treating her you really need to find out what the problem is before you can move forward.
  12. Today Declan was playing up at Ayr so I headed up to watch, when we got back Dylan was out with the ferrets and Molly. He arrived back in the afternoon with three rabbits, not a big bag but he enjoyed taking the dog with him and she saved him from netting empty buries.
  13. I'm surprised nobody else has commented on the bull cross, it just doesn't look right at all. Put it this way if it was mine I'd be a bit concerned. Other than that well done on the mooch.
  14. C'mon Jamie what way is that to show off the end of day catch Get them rabbits lined up proper man. Seriously though, well done on the days catch.
  15. Was it Scurlogue Champ? http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/155363-i-would-have-love-to-see-scurlogue-champ/page__hl__scurlogue__fromsearch__1
  16. Lunita with replies like that you'll not be on here long. You're far too sensible for this site. been here long enough to know that...thats why hardly ever comment anymore ...lol Why should that be an unpopular comment? I agree, and i would of thought any other decent hunter would too, quarry deserves respect....... Who are you replying to simo? Lunita, i dont think anyone with any common sense would see this film as normal Aye but common sense isn't that common on here going by this thread.

  18. There's a thread about it in the lurcher section mate. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/228544-this-is-why-theres-a-ban/
  19. If I was you I'd go for two fifty yarders rather than one hundred yarder, they're more flexible in my opinion.

  21. Trained greyhounds for over 20 years and never had a treadmill, if the weathers bad get their jackets on and get them out it won't do them any harm. That said I only ever had 3-4 dogs at one time so maybe a treadmill would be an advantage if you had a lot of dogs. One downside is that dogs don't get the mental stimulus on a treadmill that they do when out walking the roads and fields.
  22. i couldnt give 2 shits about the fox! You say this is why there's a ban then you come out with the above statement. It's folk with attitudes like yours that fieldsports could do without, surely every animal deserves to be despatched as quickly and humanely as possible.
