  1. Heard others say that aswell but I don't like to let a youngster watch another dog lamp, they can get frustrated wanting to be off chasing and while let out a yip or two when pulling on the strap. As some have said the penny will drop through time and it shouldn't take long. I sometimes take a mate with me when I'm starting a young dog. I get him to bring his air rifle and shoot a few on the lamp, if he knocks them over it's an easy retrieve for the pup and even if he wings the rabbit it gives the pup a better chance. I love that line '' might get frustrated watching" no offense m
  2. Are you saying your dogs can't position themselves in the right place. If so I wouldn't hold out much hope for them beating Teagan and partner.

  4. And the reason there's not many people working greys is there's better options out there. If you are serious about getting a pure greyhound and working it in the field forget about taking short cuts and getting an ex racer, get one as a pup and bring it on as you would a lurcher.

R.I.P. Sid Waddell, darts wouldn't have been the same without him.
  6. I have decided to sell my Air Arms S410K .22 calibre [pre anti tamper], it comes with Tasco golden antler 3-9 x 40 TV view scope, silencer and fill adaptor. I am looking for £400 ovno and would prefer face to face so you can see before you buy. I live near Dumfries in SW Scotland.

  8. Siamese twins walk into a bar in Montreal, Canada and park themselves on a bar stool. One of them says to the bartender, "Don't mind us; we're joined at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim. Two Molson Canadian draft beers, please." The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on holiday yet, lads?" "Off to England next month," says John. "We go to England every year, rent a car and drive for miles. Don't we, Jim?" Jim nods in agreement. "Ah, England !" says the bartender. "Wonderful country... the history, the b
  9. Aye like you say it happens all the time and if you're in Durham you'll be right in the middle of it, never seen as many lurchers for sale anywhere else in the UK as there are in Durham. Last year My mate travelled to Hartlepool to see a dog work on the lamp and although it was a 300 mile round trip it was worth it as the dog certainly wasn't as described. It caught nothing, never got close to catching and wouldn't even jump a standard sized fence even though on the phone the lad said it caught most things it ran, jumped anything etc etc. My mate could've had it delivered without seeing it bu
  10. How long has your dog been into demolition.
  11. Nice sharp pic Kittlerox.
  12. Would it be good looks your after?
  13. I personally prefer the vas hob option unless breeding. Speying seems to create health problems later in life, certainly a higher occurrence of adrenal gland problems. I don't think a shot full of chemicals does much good either - especially if it can be up to 3 times and the vets want the cost of a full vial because the manufacturer insists it can't be kept open for more than 24 hrs and won't do smaller bottles. There's also the gamble of leaving them in season, but the camp is split on that one. Cheers Tug that's what I was getting at, we could have a sticky on the subject but th
  14. What are the options Joe? As I've read enough posts on here saying you can't do this and you've got to do that, then someone will follow with, no you don't need to do that etc etc. Spey them, jab them, put a vas hob on them - an entire hob is only if you want to breed... Is that all the options? Which would you recommend?

  17. Aye but this is THL Jamie, kinda expect those replies.
  18. Massaging creates heat which in turn increases blood flow which speeds up the healing process.
  19. Depends what you want it for Jai, if it's just for a general rub/massage something like curacho would do.
