  1. Then you had no other choice really I often think about having a pup out of Boo, do get people stopping me to ask if they can use him, but have never seen a whippet bitch strong enough looking with a decent coat. Could not believe the variations in whippets at a show i went to recently. I've never bred a dog at all but do think enough about this lad to want him again, i like everything about him, even his annoying 'only in my time' attitude
  2. That bird i was on about, was singing again tonight, so loud i could hear it whilst in the bath. It has a fairly large repertoire, two i remember go like (Hard to put into words) "De dat da, de dat da, de dat da" Another... "Ooooo ee" "Ooooo ee" Will repeat some songs twice or up to 5 times. It also has other repetitive noises and some more complicated song. If i hear any more and i can put it into words, I'll stick it on here
  3. Excellent zz are top drawer blue jeans blues class track Many people only know then for their pop hits....legs, sharp dressed man. They did some other fine tunes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z8SApalIE4
  4. I can understand you wanting to keep whippets looking like whippets Mally. But could you not have found a working whippet without aesthetic faults to use? Did you contemplate that you might get average or worse for working ability in your litter or in future litters from the offspring? A heck of a gamble, i know i couldn't have done it. Would you use non working stock over the offspring or go back to workers? I know that most KC ped whippets will have show stock somewhere in their lineage, mine does......and he still got pricked ears The bone man, who sees a LOT of whippets actually though
  5. He aint doing bad for someone who had MS and only had a few years to live. That was well over 10 years ago. Classic!!, only on THL could someone be getting s**t for staying alive. lol Not giveing him shit for being alive.Just find it a bit sick that someone would claim to be dieing of a horrible disease like MS. No-one can predict when you will die with MS. It is not that straight forward. Well he wrote in in the EDRD that he had MS and that he didnt have long to live That was well over 10 yrs ago maybe even 15yrsor more. Perhaps it was a case of looking at the worst possible sce
  6. What would you have done if the litter turned out to be useless workers though Mally.
  7. I can relate to that from what i have seen of Lil. Not something you can easily put into words. But they seem to have old heads on young bodies, learn anything (even the bad things ) straight away. I know this sounds daft but i could just see the day Millet picked up Lil, she was in a different class to any other dog i have seen at that age

  15. One thing he isn't as good as the lurcher for...... Carrying the mole traps and pegs. But i don't think his ears are at fault for that
  16. Nothing wrong with how you feel Lab, not everyone can cope with things not seen as 'normal' and i applaude you for being so honest about it. I am a registered nurse for the mentally handicapped, or at least i was, i no longer practise nursing. Throughout my career i worked with any and every type of disability you can think of, some of which are now extinct thanks to medical intervention/pregnancy screening. One thing which was pushed and pushed when i trained was the concept of 'normalisation', meaning everyone with a disability had the right to be treated as normally as everyone else, h
  17. Can still catch rabbits Even though i did not want him too. Been out doing mole work and took Boo for the day. First one lifted as i was looking at the hills, not long after we got into the field. Unfortunately the camera was on manual focus I got it back onto auto just in time for Boos strike/tumble. Back up and at him. Now back to Mam with the prize. Them bloody ears A quick readjustment of hold. And continue to Mam. Unfortunately this rabbit was not blessed with the same ears as Boo The next one was a coup
  18. A priest was invited to attend a house party. Naturally, he was properly dressed and wearing his Priest's Collar. A little boy kept staring at him the entire evening. Finally, the priest asked the little boy what he was staring at. The little boy pointed to the priest's neck. When the priest finally realized what the boy was pointing at, he asked the boy; "Do you know why I am wearing that?" The boy nodded his head yes, and replied, "It kills fleas and ticks for up to three months".
