  1. Keep me out of this one FTB .... If it were a ewe, no problem at all, arm up and whip them out Never bred a dog in my life
  2. Never bred any pups but if it were me I'd be glued to her side doing the breathing and pushing with her
  3. I could squeeze several more in..................................................when they take me off to the local asylum, cos that's what would happen if i had to have another bleedin puppy
  4. I much prefer old tat, much preferable to today's modern rubbish. I'm in my element if i get something old fashioned i can 'do up'
  5. It means asking youself why you are assuming that if a person donates something which may break on day one in its new home, that the person who gave it is somehow in the wrong when in fact their intentions were all right. And, since we are talking about motivations for doing something, you posed the question of "are people doing it to make themselves look good" when folk could assume that you started this thread (conciously or not) for the very same reason, ie, to make yourself look good. Fascinating how the mind works really, dont you think. chin chin My god, you are deep
  6. Your missing my point Sandy. We expect lurchers to do more than is the norm for a dog a great deal more. Lurchers are not marathon huskies hence my asking if lurchers were included in the study. The glucose boost will come from recharge, as well as the others such as sodium/salt. I do not believe for one moment that 5ml of recharge mixed with water will give a dog (after extreme exercise) problems because of too much salt intake. No straw men Sandy it was you who said lucozade and that it was a cheaper alternative
  7. . Thank you very much How very dare you, realtree are chav, ex military are................................................. cheap Awww thank you very much Mars, no-one ever notices Boo. Isn't 'your' Terra looking old now
  8. . Thank you very much everyone If I hadn't first hand experience of his penchant for face washing, I'd say he looks like he could come through the picture and bite me Love the Rude Boy Thought for one moment you were on about Steve till i saw the photo No He is 2.5 now believe it or not. He is doing everything i wanted him to do...very happy with this lad The little brindle thing is a bleedin tank, as heavy as one and as strong as one, fantastic little dog BH. She is a Staffie x whippet....Keepa. Yes Snoop, they are enjoying thei
  9. Did you see when Clarkson drove one, kept flipping over around corners so he has stabilisers put on it
  10. Yes i am controlling my dogs Chook, that is exactly what i want to do. These dogs are not pet dogs, they are powerfull working dogs, they kill things, they know how to kill things and most importantly LOVE killing things their whole existence if for the next time they can do it. And it will be over with in a very short time indeed, if they decided to fight.
  11. He's a 1st gen, 1st cross bull/grey Carpman.
  12. Out of the gate for most nights then every week a 3hr round trip for lamping and about 5 hr round trip for ratting once a fortnight.
  13. I never said it was anything to do with replicating a dog, i find it is more effective than hitting a dog in a situation when you need an instant quick effect. The shock of it has a greater effect than any beatings would. I don't believe the dogs think i am trying to kill them, but if they do, i am fine with that, it is much more preferable than a dead dog or a dog which has to be pts. I don't believe it causes them further problems, you have to know the full picture of someone's relationship with their dogs, how they interact at all times, to be able to judge their methods of training. 14. So you are saying using the correct levels of electrolyte replacement designed for dogs would actually do more harm then good? And lucozade full of additives and preservatives would be better because it is cheaper. Did the studies on sporting dogs contain dogs like lurchers, who may be working for a long length of time. Not just greyhounds who are sprinters, in a one off race. And not including the husky types who are bred for endurance. As i said before, most dogs are not really evolved to continuously hunt and hunt and hunt as we make them do. They would probably catch then eat or miss
  15. Dehydration can be either a loss of fluid, a loss of electrolyte or a combination of both Sandy. Combination of both is the usual cause of dehydration

  17. It is a very hard thing to resolve once it has happened Tyla, there does not need to have been a trigger as such, sometime some dogs just take a while to find their feet so to speak. Terriers can swine's for holding grudges. Dominance in packs is not always as cut and dried as people like to think, ie one pack leader and the rest are subservient. While you are overall pack leader there will also be a 2nd in command, a dominat bitch etc.
  18. Was she with other dogs, sometimes younger dogs will stand back to let the more dominant older ones in.

  20. I'll probably get some flack for this but when you say you come down hard when the dog is being aggressive, how hard do you mean? If he were my dog, i would have him pinned to the floor by the skin of his neck, on top of him screaming in his face, so angry my eyes would be bulging, and spitting hell fire untill he screamed in submission I've found REAL anger like this, coupled with the fact the dog is restrained and cannot get away till you let it much more effective than a good hiding. Don't get me wrong, i don't do this to all my dogs, i train them from an early age i am boss, i do the
