One ran up the inside of my trouser leg once whilst out ratting. Peeked out the waistband of my trews, then back down my leg and out at the ankle. I did some dance moves John Travolta would have been proud of that day

Just about all of my pups have been like that, Keepa was scared of dead birds and rabbits The best you can do for her is just get her out and about as much a possible, ignore negatives and reward positives

Sorry but mine is Sorry Moll but i dont agree,mine is 8 months old and 'nearly' killed her first bunny the other day Listen, mine is nearly 3 yr old and has killed at least 2 rabbits

Personally i think choke chains, yanking him by the neck etc will not help. The least tension possible + distraction will help more., untill he either gets his confidence back, or gets out of the arsey stage.

I think free feeding is a lazy way to feed, and as Sky pointed out totally unnatural for a dog. I need to be able to monitor my dogs weight and condition, to do this properly i need to feed different kinds of food at different levels of volume, at different time of the year. I would not walk a dog off the lead let alone take it out hunting if it had been able to eat whatever it liked throughout the day. And on a more psychological note, it takes away to dogs absolute joy at feeding times

Thought i would join in with this thread, even though i am not one of the older members I am very happy with my lot, perhaps because i am happy with the simpler things in life. I try to live with a glass half full mentality. The only thing i have not done but wish i had, is to travel, to see all over the world, not package type holdays but seeing other countries how they really are

Three days snaring with peg and gun

Set my first rabbit snares today, my thinking prior was 'how hard can it be, stick a loop of wire in a runway'! How wrong i was, found them really fiddly to get just right...that is if they are right! -
