  4. You would not of wanted to be the rat that ran up inside of Moll's trouser leg .. and popped it's head out of her waist band one time when we where ratting..the poor rat was dead before it got back out of her pant's.. Lmfao  What made me laugh more that day was Butler. Quote..... " If that had happened to me, i wouldn't care who was here, or if i was wearing wor lasses knickers, i would have dropped my kegs like a shot"
  5. Sorry to be a pest, can anyone else see the pics either on here or in the album. Not sure it it is just my PC or not?
  6. We found lurcher to be an absolute godsend in places heaving with rats. Many would have been lost without them Bit like bushing, terriers in amongst with the lurchers on the outside watching for the sneaky bolter's. Cant seem to get photobucket to work on here at the mo??? Here is a link to the album.... http://s3.photobucke...blic%20viewing/

    ???

I never said lean Casso, i said fit. It was in reply to people saying they liked extra weight on their dogs for work A dog with extra weight at the beginning will still be in the same position 3/4 weeks into the season as a dog starting out fit, except it will have had a greater chance of injury during that time. I don't go out 4 times per week day and night for 30 rabbits each time, i have no need to. I do however go out 5 + nights per week, for lesser numbers and other prey then usually 1 night per week for up to 30 rabbits, with a bit of daytime bushing here and there. Then the lurchers
  10. They emailed me before they went, i replied but did not get one back, not sure if they got it cos it would have been about the time they left and may have had to change their addy??? Say hello for me please.x. You have my email addy don't you?
  11. If i had the money and she was the right pup for me.......................................................
  12. Bless ye Dealer Butler....have you heard from G&F, how are they doing? Think about them a lot. The ratting is going to be a big miss, we will never get anything like that again, not only the ratting but the fantastic company and hospitality. Fell honoured to have been a part of it for sure :friends: Thank you very much everyone
  13. You know Rob, a wee little bushing dog wouldn't take up much room

I like a dog to be fit to start, no extra weight. Extra weight means extra wear and tear and it means the dog is not really fit enough leading to other probs. Start them fit then adjust the food intake accordingly, if the dog looses weight, up the feed. Mine are on much more food once the season properly kicks in
  15. They do get better with age regarding nettle stings, they can be stupid when young though. If it is causing a problem half a piriton will help in the mean time. Or stop taking her near nettles late in the evening

If you do think she is underweight, don't slow her down, increase her food instead.
  17. Personally for me i think entering cover is not a good thing, when i say entering i mean going right in chasing quarry in it. I want my running dogs outside the cover waiting for the prey to bolt. To just enter cover and pick up a squatter is good.
