    Good luck with the pup...the lad looks well pleased.... My son went on and on and on for years about having his own pup....I told him "Aye, when you're 13..." And before I knew it he was 13 and able to do most of the work himself...

    Those dogs look fitter every time you post new pics Andy...that Don dog fascinates me....he looks switched on constantly...with depth of bone and substance...total quality stamped all over him....

    Okay...I worked as a hill shepherd for a long time...I have in the past hunted collies and collie curs to a wide range of quarry including rabbits, hares foxes and deer. They were effective both in the daytime and on the lamp... Good luck and keep us posted.....

    dead on pal work away another anti what do you mean by this? Basically what he is suggesting is that you're a bunny hugging opponent of everything we hold dear...and that you have come on here with infiltration in mind...you're intention is to solicit confessions of the most awful crimes against wildlife...admissions of dog fighting as well as penetrative sex with badgers...and oral sex with otters......and then to use them against us in an attempt to secure spurious convictions... Personally I don't believe it.... I reckon by your post sheep are your thing....

    Not half as old as I feel some days................ But you are right about terrain and geography...heavily collie blooded dogs wouldn't perform on big fields in Lincolnshire or Cambridgeshire...just not cut out for that.... Horses, or in this case, dogs for courses.....

    To be honest Ray where I live and hunt a dog with just 1/4 collie just won't do if you intend to graft it hard - there's a big difference between an odd night lamping or a days ferreting or mouching and hard, constant and demanding work.... I have had 1/4 collie 3/4 greyhounds in the past and the associated heartache when they break just ain't worth it... I need something with a bit of bone and substance...a dog that will take the knocks and shrug them off and get on with the job in hand...and be ready and willing the next again day... They don't suit everyone though....they won'

You're always gonna meet with some objections from folk....I have family members who just don't 'get it'....and I respect their views....it's just a pity that respect isn't reciprocated... You're obviously a 'hands on' dad....and that can only be a positive thing....and it will show as your son grows into a fine young man.... Time well spent and an investment in the future....

    Great stuff guys - good to kids and dogs/ferrets together.... Johnny, wee Arya is getting strong mate....and that Bron could have a home here anytime....she's a real type eh.... Rhys looks pretty chilled out and confident around ferrets Lee....the way it should be... All good....

    Is that your Ox dog paul....??? Fk me that looks bad....I do a lot of hedgelaying in winter and blackthorn is the worst...get some bad ones with them...go wrong too if you're not careful... Did that affect the dog's overall performance apart from any adjustments he had to make....???

    She loves being outside Lee...she's always saying: "going tootside dad..." We don't have the telly here....catch up with anything important on the laptop or radio...last time I watched any TV was a long long time ago....the kids have never watched it....

    She goes around blowing that whistle all day long and she never gets a note out of it..... The red boots are parked at her bedside every night...then they're on with the pyjamas and then she's outside to let hens and ducks out every morning with her mum...she's some kid for sure...
