  1. I'm 48 but don't see 50 as any kind of watershed moment....can't imagine I'll be slowing down any.....least I hope not....
  2. How true is that...lot's of folk who should know better fire young dogs over totally unsuitable obstacles far too young as a kind of party trick. Then reap the benefits of injuries which sometimes never come right and do indeed last a lifetime. I'm never in a hurry to start them jumping...my collie x pup is 8 months old and jumped nothing yet....he's big and heavy and the risk of injury from a heavy pup landing on immature wrists and shoulders just isn't worth it.... I'll teach him to jump when he's around 12-14 months old....it'll only take an afternoon - jumping's the easiest thing y
  3. Gave my copy to a fella from THL who said he would pass it on when he was done with it - can't remember who he was though..... So, if he reads this he might just get in touch.....
  4. Tenacity....collie x....???? Behave yersel.....you need bull or GSD in the pot for that...... Here's a racy one with only 1/4 collie....... Killed when he was 16 months......that's where 'greyhoundy' gets you around here.......
  5. Pup looks great Jamie.....she's growing..... Don't you think it could do wi a 'bit more greyhound' in it though....????? Make it racier.....????? Yes mate... Think Hancock will swop me it ..... He might let you swap it for a proper pup....one with 1/4 collie in it.....after all, that's all the collie a lurcher ever needs....any more and it'll only run 1 out of 10, won't have any minerals and just won't be fast enough....oh and it'll be too clever.....
  6. Pup looks great Jamie.....she's growing..... Don't you think it could do wi a 'bit more greyhound' in it though....????? Make it racier.....?????
  7. Here you go.....all you'll ever need to know.... Sure you'll be able to sort the wheat from the chaff so to speak..... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/245705-german-shepherd-x-greyhound/
  8. Front feet will tighten up a bit wi some roadwork.....what a strong bitch though eh..... Love to see pics of her when she's jumping fit.....
  9. Thanks Lee.....he'll be grand around these parts.... In no hurry though.....next season proper will be plenty time enough for both of us.....
  10. I feed them raw....if they're fresh then there's no probs.....
  11. at a reasonable price too, Be grand animals.....world beaters.....GUARANTEED,,,,,,
  12. Tom you need to sort her out mate..... Get her out on the beam - after a dozen runs she'll not be keen to feed the dogs again....that's what I would do....
  13. This is just a guess. And I may be way off the mark here.... But I reckon he's after a whippet stud. If I had to have a gamble. I would say he was after one in the west Wales area... Edited to add I'm only pulling your leg mate. I couldn't resist. And if I had to gamble further I would say 'he' with a name like Eve......is a woman..... But of course you can be whatever you want to be on here....hey Gaz maybe you're a 6ft 4" 17 stone transexual anti.....
  14. Iolo 4 months down the line.....it's been a great learning summer for both of us....roll on next winter..... May 15th September 5th
  15. Looks a powerful cur.. . I like them types for the Chalk Downlands,.( they bounce better ) and the whippety ones for the hedgerows. Just the way they should be....... Take knocks all day long that one....and be game for more at night.....
  16. Weighed the pup tonight and he's 30.2kgs.....25"tts @ 8 months.......
  17. Dog/bitch won't matter.....depends on the dogs makeup wee whippety types will start far quicker than bigger heavily collie blooded dogs which in turn will be ready to go before even bigger deerhoundy dogs and every permutation in between.....some mature quicker than others....
