HPR, Spook worked on day one, I wouldn't call it a dig because I could see his bollocks with a flashlight from the entrance. I had massive hopes for him and I've no doubt he would of been used on my bitches sooner or later. His second dig was his last, he struggled to get on for a while but when he did I picked him up out in the field at five foot. I blame myself for his loss, I didn't rush down because he was silent, I was being a big headed fool giving it "big bollocks" saying no rush with these dogs. can someone answer this for me why the feck Ave they got 3 dogs in that hole looks like bad practice to me and I know feck all Because the men are bellends and not worthy of owning a spade for the beach let alone a terrier...That's our old Fell and moorland rep don't you know ! This was the state of terrier work when I started, well at least it was around here, shameful ain't it lol.

Yes mate he did me proud I can't deny it, the litter out of Jess was excellent. I've got a good picture or two of him but I won't put them up because I didn't take them and it's not my dog.

Good question and in all honesty I wouldn't have a clue. If I could go back at all I'd use my Toby, the dog that set the bar impossibly high, a dog that could produce and a dog that was massively under used on bitches. Toby was by Choker and out of Mo, full brother and sister. I haven't hardy got any pictures of the dog and the ones I've got you can hardly see his features, cameras were shite back in the day. Nick didn't breed him but he was responsible for the parentage, what I'd give for a semen sample off him now.

Why wouldn't you breed worker to worker (best to best) from within a line ? English hounds have been bred like this and race horses for hundreds of years. The colour and stamp starts to set itself because your doubling up on common traits.

I don't know about other lines I don't keep them, Nicks yard was like this one, full of terriers all day. I wouldn't go out and leave them alone, I don't pay attention to them all day but I'm not stupid either. The terriers I used to have would fight for the sake of it but they were the older part of his blood. Everything here is where Nick was when I last saw him or as close as humanly possible. I'd sooner have the older stuff to work but lifes a lot easier with this lot. Why I'd sooner have the older stuff ? It's a personal thing, I get results with these the same as the old dogs but

I can't think of any, the only thing I've got now which I didn't have before is wet sores. NS stuff always had them, I'd never even heard of them until I went to his yard. If you breed tight to a family you'll get all the successful bits but you'll get the bad things to. I've tried all sorts of foods, remedies and old wives tales. I've been to vets and tried antibiotics and all manner of creams to but mostly they go as fast as they come and for example the old bitch Treacle might get one a year the size of your thumb nail. Temperament is good and the work is there. They'll all chill out

Jim was to big for me but he always got the job done. His style was bay mix until the fat b*****d got there then it was more mix with the odd bay. He was the sort of dog that you could drop him in and piss off somewhere else and come back to him, he instilled confidence.

She never new when to quit, if she bayed once it was all over bar the dig. The drive and want for work was more than I could give her and she gave me so much confidence I'd tackle anything I came up against and to see that bitches drive to get into a hole she couldn't get into, a real tight place was unbelievable, she'd be spinning like a corkscrew.

It came free with my new frock. No one knows if he's right or wrong, it's trial and error. The one thing I'll say is I've only got one lifetime and I've just uses up all nine lives, I'll be happy to see the young lads bring on the next generation. I'm not going to get up my own arse and say I've got the answer because I don't, I'm just out for some fun and I got carried away.

Jim who was the sire of Milly was out of the original unknown bitch, he was sired by a dog of DF's , he was second to none and he's sorely missed. He was used on his half sister Mullet and Molly, he was also used on totally unrelated stock and they all grafted. Time will tell if I'm doing the right thing but I can only go of what's in front of me and others. This is a bitch by Jim x Mullet, she's dropping pups now by Sid.
