  1. Just a tip, peg your couples in so they just reach the dig, as soon as you need your dog coupled up all you have to do is stand up. I spent the best years of my life digging on my own, I wish you many of the same
  2. I've seen a litter bred in my yard that was the same lol. I used DF's Browny on my Mo bitch, top class breeding all done with the right intention but it produced two iron hard dogs that were to stupid for their own good and four bitches that were pure shit. It's not an exact science but line breeding is more often than not the way forward, the secret is to be honest with yourself and to give everything an honest chance.
  3. The same bitch as my profile picture, she's 11 years old now and still working. I didn't breed her, Rhys bred her out of the GOAT. I can't and won't take any credit from Rhys or NS or any other keeper of this blood. She incidentally is the only bitch in my yard with no Jess blood in her, she was late to blossom but she's paid me back a thousand times over.
  4. The bitch from the pound is in every single dog bar one in my yard and I'm proud to say it, she was very special. I won't take credit for any of my breeding, I'm still chasing a given line and it'll see me out. NS had some excellent terriers and produced dozens of top class terriers. Granted all of the original stuff was put together from out crosses but all the outcrosses were bred from top class stuff or were already being line bred. NS got kennel blind as do we all but all the lads I know with the blood continually add new blood but still blend back into the original family. As for th
  5. I got bored and cut to the chase at the end, it's not macho, it's an honest opinion. I never said I'm doing it on my own, half the people I know have pissed down my back and told me it was raining at one time or other but I value their experience and the blood they hold in their garden. Without good friends and associates I couldn't breed what I keep in my yard. It's no good quoting a load of rubbish to make yourself sound clever, I have a yard of workers and have provided plenty to others, your welcome to see them in the flesh.
  6. The secret is "never give clowns terriers" keep them close and treasure true working blood, if it gets into the wrong hands idiots will think it's all about luck and they'll mix all sorts of shit in there. I hope I've been helpful
  7. No mate, I'm talking about the footballer theory
  8. You're confusing raw physical performance with mental grit and determination. You could have the most perfect terrier on the planet physically, it won't help it when the chips are down and he's all alone in the dark. If what you say is anything like the truth you'd get a world better at every show......we all know how that ends
  9. You've just proved my point, all the information in the world and none of it sank in, luck my arse, you make your own luck in this game
  10. I've reached my quota of likes, Neil I'll just have to tell you I like it, classic
  11. totally disagree, letting a pup go to someone in no way affects what you and your mates do, what would make the terrier job in a better state would be sharing the good blood and then the overall quality of terriers being bred would go up, and this would in no way affect you or your breeding plans, also how do you know when someone enquires for a pup there (in your opinion) an idiot. they may just be thinking that about you? and all i can say about you giving pups to lads you dont know is you must have changed in the last 15 yrs or so? What makes a lad an idiot ? He wants a terrier for a start
  12. If the decent blood wasn't passed on to idiots the terrier job wouldn't be in the state it's in now. I've tried to give out pups to lads I didn't know but all bar a few times I've regretted it, it's a funny old game. My advice to lads wanting better than they've got, do the best with what you have, the lads with decent stuff are always after good lads who'll bring a pup on right and give it a genuine chance.
  13. there are loads in USA but i cant find any in UK. no need to be rude. That's rude ? I was saying I was a Muppet ! I can't do the links but there's a chap selling from the UK on there, I'll have another look and try and get a name. Racoon's are fetching £350-500, a little to much for me to tip out but I'd love to have them this side of the water
  14. No cubs but I did come across this in the snow a couple of days ago
  15. I googled it last night and there's plenty on the net, if I can find them any Muppet can. Out if interest, there's plenty of raccoon for sale on there too, if any terrier lads with deep pockets would like to get some escapees, I'm sure we'd all be eternally grateful.
  16. I go on about this sort of thing to my kids all the time. I walk around my old council estate now and see nothing but shite, un kept gardens, rubbish everywhere and just no pride. When I grew up every garden was a picture even though no one had sod all. Back in the day every street had a pigeon man, lurcher man, terrier man or the rabbit man with his ferrets and nets. Most gardens had all the above and more but the one thing that was taught above all else was good stock keeping and pride in what you'd got.
  17. I got the idea, I vaguely remember having a fringe too
  18. I hope I can do them justice Treehands, I'm not as young, stupid or keen as I was
  19. This picture gives a better idea of the look of him MM, I like the look of him myself.
  20. Every time I pass some on it bites me on the arse, finding good homes is harder than producing the right stock.
  21. Longer than I care to mention, started a boy and finished a man
  22. The one on the left is two years older, give the pup a chance and he'll catch up. They're Stevens lines, the black has other blood in him.
