  1. my advice would be to have a look at what some of the regulars on here are shooting, as they have been shooting for many years and have a lot of experience with many rifles. I spent 400 quid plus on my first decent springer and got burnt because i didn't have anyone with experience to advise me. im sure for your 400 quid you could get a solid, reliable workhorse of a gun with a good pedigree.
  2. i've also heard they're crap, and my local gunsmith said the logun S16's werent worth the hassle either.
  3. welcome mate. you'll not go wrong on ere for a laugh and top advice from top people. i've been helped out no end with advice from this site. Happy shooting
  4. jesus! I went out other day and thought I did well to get six! well done mate.
  5. Hi Gary, If the Falcon Accuracy Plus pellets suit your barrel buddythen they are well worth a try as they are very soft pellets so grip the lans and grooves well flying true and are very light in .22 calibre at only 13.4 grain making for a flatter trajectory in .22. I did some calibration work with them as well and their BC is the largest I have come across (better than magnums and all the Air Arms and FX) with only a 63 mm drop from a lased 25 metres to a lased 40 metres, making their a staggering BC 0.051 On vermin they are deadly due to the fact that they are very soft lead the
  6. in the last couple of weeks iv seen & heard of a few deals over airguns and stuff turning sour due to complications/scumbags and it disheartens me to think that there are people out there that'll do that to fellow shooters. I have seen on the falcon owners forum that they have a space for recognising and vouching for people who have done good deals, provided swift service, generally being a gent etc. does anyone think such a space would be useful/effective on this site. i think that by pooling everybodys resources it would be possible to build up a good collection of reliable people/trader
  7. i once used some of that jack pyke stretchy bandage stuff on my old tx, the stuff they claim sticks only to its self on not your gear. it eventually turned all tacky on gooey and left sticky smears all over, and let water in. i've currently got some other camo cloth tape, that isn't stretchy, on my rifle. i too were worried about water/condensation getting under it so the guy in the gunshop recommended spraying my rifle with WD40, letting it dry, and doing it again, then putting the tape on, then spraying the tape with WD40 to create at least a bit of waterproofing. i've been out in the rain w
  8. i've heard kitchen foil is the best material to remove rust with, never tried it, but the advice came from my local gunsmith. also, newspaper is very good at cleaning your scope lenses without leaving streaks.
  9. i always find a camo tarp/basha provides both a backdrop to avoid silhouetting , and lightweight shelter should it start raining. and, it can also be draped over your gear and covered with leaf litter and floor debris, should you need to hide it all
  10. oh no! now you'll have to spend EVEN MORE time out shooting to get all that hard earned outdoorsy smell back on your gear.
  11. nice one. im on that like a tramp on old chips.
  12. now, im never one to judge people because of their spelling/grammar, but this guy is something special absolutely hilarious
  13. thats becoming quite a collection you have there
  14. have a look at the falcon range. they have rifles in most price brackets, mine performs really well and will out-shoot me at my current level of shooting, its a delight to hold, the stock options are very nice and practical and not every tom dick or harry has one. (this doesn't mean they're crap, by the way)
  15. "PS.... I can't remember the last time I had any of my scopes on anything other than 6x for feild use." same here! i zoom in to full mag for zeroing and thats about it.
  16. i personally would have the 3.5-10x50's cos of the better light gathering capabilities. my current rifle came with some 8-24x44 or summat daft like that and they came straight off for some 3-9x40's. the higher mag ones might let you down when it comes to close range shooting, and i think are primarily used for HFT and target shooting.
  17. Ha! the old guy that owns the gunshop i use once said "I'd rather catch aids for't second time than have a logun" (meaning the S16)in his broad yorkshire accent!
  18. very. jealous. congrats on the new permission. if only it was that easy for us civvies!
  19. my mate put one of those sidewinders on his ultra tactical and its made it very top heavy, like it wants to just tip the rifle over sideways. needless to say, he now wants rid of it.
