  1. Now come on OTC, dont beat around the bush, mince your words and provaricate say what you meen.
  2. Rolfe, when i lived up country used to see these in New Avon Arms in Bristol, failing that would almost guarantee that if you gave Rommel a shout down at Helston Gunsmiths he would have a couple knocking around. RegardsMT.
  3. Devonlad, how much wire you after, if you are not after a great deal, i might be able to spare enough for your needs and drop it by. Providing i dont get abducted by aliens or something in the meen time.
  4. Just sent off for a copy of this new book by John Bailey, lists over 500 traps covers everything, from detailed descriptions, dates of manafacture, the law,etc etc. ISBN 978-0-9555744-0-5 £19.25 (INC P+P) FROM FIELDFARE PUBLISHING, FIELDFARE HOUSE, OLD MALTHOUSE LANE, FORD, SALISBURY, SP4 6DR. Tel-01980-610139 I have nothing to do with it, in fact i did not even know it was coming out until i opened keeping the balance magazine this morning. Regards MT.
  5. Sorry Ditch, my dads is a 350, he has had it about 5 years now, i can guarantee the oil has never been checked, he would not know what a service is, and still it never misses a beat.
  6. Ditto what Ian said, my old man is 74 and is still farming sheep up in the hills, he has a small honda, gets him everywhere.
  7. For a 12 bore shotgun you only need a shotgun certificate not a FAC.
  8. You dont need one mate, it,s a shotgun, never mind it was worth a go. Regards MT.
  9. Some really helpfull stuff here lads, thanks ever so much for your input, the other thing with this rifle as i have also mentioned on airgun bbs, is whether running at only 30 ft/lbs whether i would need/ benefit from an additional silencer ?. Any views on this matter.
  10. Without trying to sound offensive, if you cannot work out how to set them, maybe you shouldnt even be trying. Took the words right out my mouth, they should come with a warning on them, "not for amateur use, exept for collection purposes only"
  11. Would you be interested in a swap, i have a very up together skb side by side 12 bore, plenty of engraving, handles very nicely indeed, it is worth about £350-£375 would be happy to make the rest up to value in cash. Give me a shout if interested. Regards MT.
  12. MC, what are you saying, you cannot question someone who writes for a paper, he even flogs stuff at shows.
  13. Nooo, tricky rabbits that have been messed with by amateurs before the land owners realise they need to get a pro in and sort their problems out for them at great expense, and where my rimmys are too likely to cause damage or harm by ricochet. It will be just yet another tool of my trade to enable me to offer customers a holistic approach to an age old problem.
  14. Bought a Daystate Airanger yesterday, it is running at 30 ft/lbs, apparently because i have not gone power mad this should mean i have a wider choice of pellets that will group well and not deform in the barrel, so the question is, anyone with relevant knowledge of air rifles running at this power level got any help on brands of quality pellets worth me trying, rather than me buying lots on a trial and error basis. Any advice greatly appreciated. Regards MT.
  15. duffus type for me every time , no if,s no buts, why put a trap in the ground that can only catch one when you have a Duffus that can and will at this time of year catch two. Flat pack we will see, they have just sent me a sample as i told them what a load of crap the 50 they sent me last year were (rust, never seen anything like it), the sample is staying in the ground for a month or so.
  16. YES !!!!! this is what i have been missing, get on lads, personally i find the wifes stockings far better and they dont need anchor pins. And in a slightly more lucid moment, i bought a 100 yrd trammel from jb nets about a year ago, i think that one has 9 inch pockets.
  17. Hi everybloody, thanks for the messages, i have just got home, not officialy discharged, may still have to go back in tomorrow, hope not though as it will be the needle in the spine for 5 days thing, not good so the nurses were telling me. Anyway as i say cheers to you all and thanks again.
  18. for thoses that are interested, not such a good day today, bad night with clear liquid from brain not staying where it should, so back down to theatre again this morning to stick some of his leg in his head!! worst of all they had already removed half of the big needles in his arms before surgeon saw him and said put them all back in again, looks just like a pin cushion, second load of anesthetic in under 24hrs has left him feeling grumpy and fed up! cant say i blame him! Hopes to still get out by sunday but who knows! To make things worse there is a young kid who had a motorbike acci
  19. Well done Rew, i think the last picture does the day justice best. Wish i was out ferreting in this weather instead of mole trapping, but work must come first.
  20. Not being funny, but what is he going on a propane gas course for ?, that is what you use in heaters. They are now using propane gas to blow rabbit earths. Kills every thing where it lays, BOOM That means if i am not mistaken that he is using an Erodinator, this is only classed as use for demolishing empty burrows, not for killing ocupants of used warrens.

  22. No worries, glad you got such quality replies, Have a free bump on me.
  23. Have done a job for some londoners today down here at their country retreat, while we were chatting the lady of the house told me she has problems with greys in their london house, she wants them live trapped, but could be persuaded otherwise (possibly). They tried to persuade me to go up and deal with them, but it just is not worth my time. So i am trying to locate someone close enough looking for a squirrel job. This will be a nice earner, BUT you will have to be a pro full timer, my reputation also rests on it so it is not suitable for part timers or amateurs as the person i put them in co
  24. Whats this then ?, bought the wrong gauge, or got bored with this already, the other day you wanted to know whether you should be called snaresman, men or other.
