  1. Rento are quoting one twenty plus vat down here.
  2. Started off promising down here but as yet hasn't really materialised, maybe four a week at present. However the flea jobs are more than compensating for it, blooming brilliant.
  3. Funny enough I got back this morning from south of France, blackberry down there already ripening and elderberry well on the way, northern France still only blossom. Down here in Cornwall they're coming along nicely.
  4. Bill fountain, top bloke with very comprehensive package at good price.
  5. Very true chaps! That's why I mainly stick with the contract rabbit work and moles, obviously I still do wasps and suchlike, but I'm steadily distancing myself from the mainstream as it's becoming a real head ache with aversion, resistance etc because of Muppets getting hold of stuff and misusing it through lack of/no training.
  6. Remember years ago the case of the American operative who did a domestic flea job caused by the family cat, he powdered the cat, liver failure within hours, suitably sued and prosecuted. Although there is a long overdue move towards stopping access by amateurs to products like this it's going to be a long time coming. Meantime we get more resistance build up because of improper use, just like with the rodent bait fiasco.
  7. Funny enough were off picking elder flowers today also, herself made a gallon of cordial yesterday, the ones today will be going into strawberry jam. We've had a brilliant year on the strawberry front. Matt, would be great to meet up, but mine would be a pint of Orange juice "yuk" these days. All I can say is thank goodness we've found good tasting alcohol free wine.
  8. Matt, it's quite funny reading this as whenever we do our regular jaunts up to Dorset we drive through your village and that really nice looking pub on the side of the road, I always wonder if you're in there having a tipple! Now I know you have no reason to be in there at all. When I was still drinking I used to do full mash, proper ball ache really but I wanted to feel I'd done the whole thing by myself. Now we have this place the first thing I did was plant an Apple orchard and a pear orchard, God only knows what I'm going to do with all the apples now, I planted all different juicing var
  9. Matt yes I use oa2ki but also a food grade, both in powder, didn't get on as well with the wet formulation. Millet, glad you mentioned you'd been drinking, otherwise your posts on this thread would make you look an utter cock!
  10. I use de now, kills the mites and red mites, when I clean out each week I put in a good depth of miscanthus on the floor and the nest boxes then blast that with the Dr5 filled with de, the birds have a lovely dust bath and kill any lice or whatever also. Also using food grade de instead of chemicals now, just mix it in with the feed, working brilliantly.
  11. Very nice collection there! I have rather a lot of pcp,s but now have a 98 and a 95k coming next week.
  12. Many go under because they do not know how to run a business, ie, effective advertising, they're not customer facing, can get the leads but can't close the deal etc. Being good at being an operative doesn't necessarily follow that their a good business man/woman. Possibly one of the biggest hurdles is the level of commitment needed, if you have a family they will have to be 100% behind you as you won't switch off, you won't be around much and you're going to be constantly focused on what needs to be done. In my case that went on the first five or six years, my only time out I would hit the
  13. Someone ought to do a sticky for this as it's probably asked at least once a week, closely followed by what do you charge for ...... Generally considered as the minimum standard of qualification for a professional pest controller is rsph2, costs around a grand and is generally done through killgerm or barretine. Yes there's plenty of money in it if your good in the business acumen department and a good operative. Tonnes start up each year but a very high proportion go under in less than a year.
  14. Laughing my ferkin arse off! Yep exactly what he said. When I was still mad enough to do big trapping campaigns I just used a claw hammer, worked just fine.
  15. Not the case on this one socks! Anyone registered with the NT,s tpu who carry out rabbit control for them on a professional basis was contacted and invited to submit a tender for the contract, I believe there were also a couple of non NT contractors invited to also. I considered it briefly and then dismissed the idea as there is no way I could have done it properly and kept the show running down here. The rat clearance job cost just shy of 30k.
  16. What a proper gent! Restores your faith in human nature "almost"lol
  17. Hiya, do sfs provide any paperwork to confirm they've done a tune or is it just the sticker?
  18. Cracking dresser! Oh nice shrooms too.
  19. As above completely as new, swap for similar condition mk4is in .177
  20. I only use ultras for my night work and use baracuda extreme in .177, out to about 35-40 yds brilliant, and don't they ever hit with a whack.
  21. Erm, I bought a wolverine last week, have a new r10 super carbine coming this week, need to make space!
