Mouse's Pups Regular Updated Pics
desertbred replied to the pikey poacher's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The point is she is a well bred bitch ,has had a long running career and seems to throw half right pups, PP is happy with her the lads buying the pups appear to be happy, so the crabbers and snipers seem to talk a lot of bollocks by the way do you lads crabbing have running dogs or just computers ? -
More fodder for the antis. Notice the plod again roped in coursing and the fact that anything that is not screwed down will be stolen by dog lads. The clowns doing the deer need shooting why take them and leave them behind and also one of their dogs these are tossers not dogmen

I know whos the numpty and do you think they give a feck if you like them or not ?

leethedog its been used for thousands of years for salukis but how would you know that

antibiotics will increase the diahorrea, if its bacterial , if its viral antibiotics have no value anyway, if infection is not present then fullers earth will stop the trots or as has been suggested arrowroot. Also you could try teacup full of live yoghurt with two teaspoons of dried mint in it .

The c**ts should be hunted down with the dog retread the car, all four tyres ! then put the spare on and reverse over the c**ts, again

heard about a couple of scroats doing a double pike off the flats at Collyhurst Manchester , it was more dope related and courtesy of Quality Street those lads even sent the Krays back to London in the sixties, That was told to me 3 weeks ago by one of the horses mouths as it were

what age is the bitch? what lines is she out of? why do you want to line her? and is she good enough to take a litter out off ? The number of salukis both x,s and pures on the market at the minute seems to be high. atb

A working saluki is primarily programmed from birth to sight and then chase moving objects, the motivation to do it has been there for thousands of years. This over powering desire to chase and catch stuff is one of the main factors that give way to the feeling that they have cloth ear syndrome or as is often refered to they throw a deaf one. The bonding from a very young age with the owner and the position of dominance needs to be established from day one by the owner fail to do this and the saluki will exploit the master and dog relationship to the maximum and with less experienced owners it

Yes it does but only as long as physical activity is continued. A enlarged heart without physical activity usually signifies illness so the expansion of the heart mass due to exercise is dependant on the exercise continuing , The point I was emphasising was that a saluki has a naturally larger heart may be the way I phrased the point on cardio vascular performance was incorrect
-
The heart will thicken the walls of the left ventricular to pump more blood with exercise such as running and in humans things like cycling and weight lifting but once the activity is left for prolonged periods after retirement for instance as with all muscle tissue the heart will also loose some of its mass. a saluki has a naturally larger heart then a greyhound and will retain a larger heart all its life.
-
Don't think most of the old coursing lads would be agreeing about the weekend coursers LOL atb

No one should run a poorly conditioned dog we can agree on that, T..he greyhound and saluki are different styles of running one is explosive and one is prolonged ,cardio vascular competence can be increased but heart size unless illness is involved remains the same. The muscle of greyhounds and salukis is also different the greyhound being ball muscle for immediate speed and power where as the saluki is elongated muscle for build up of power and endurance , its evident in lots of athletes the sprinters are well muscled and powerfully built where most distance runners tend to be lean.
-
Mr Gonads because before the salukis came lads could walk the land all day to get plenty of runs now as it needs to be done in a reasonably short time scale the hybrids have changed . Model T fords could get you from A to B but not as quick as an Evo does now, times have moved on. atb

the lung capacity in the dog plays a part but without oxygenated blood in abundant supply the lungs wont function properly to maximum capacity the saluki has the edge on other dogs on stamina because their hearts a larger physically than other dogs thus pumping the blood round faster to get it oxygenated which in turn supplies the muscles and lactic acid does not build up in the muscle tissue as quick.

no one is talking about dogs that have bitten anyone we are talking about a lad with a dog whom he feels has exhausted his skill so he wants to do what is right by the dog one is pass it on to an experienced owner or the second pts .As for salukis I dont think you your father or grandfather have dealt with them longer than the people around me , so maybe we don't give up on them as easy as some do
-
he has said himself he is at the end of the line what would you rather him do leave the dog in the pen , or maybe put it on preloved so a dog with issues get punted around on the merry go round Pts would be a last resort if an experienced home couldn't be found but pts is a far better option than a dog punted all over the country to finish its days in some dog pound. As for owning I forgot more about these dogs than you could read in a lifetime so whos the moron I think I know.
-
No such thing as a problem saluki only owners who don't know what to do or haven't got the patience I have turned plenty of real basket cases around in my time. They are not for everyone and if you have reached a point where your interest is gone then either rehome to a experienced owner or pts

A good saluki or saluki x should be that prey orientated you may as well try to plat fog as get it to come back once its spotted a moving target no one into hunting would expect anything else other than chasing and either loosing or catching the prey. Well schooled dogs once the chase is over will return to its owner the ones that hunt up and stand 25 yards away should be considered as work in progress, The aim is to get the dog back on the slip without the whistling and shouting which if you are out on non permission is needed. Salukis and x,s contrary to a lot of the old wives tales are inte

Do You Run You Dogs On Ploughed Fields
desertbred replied to bigoy19706's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
A good dog will catch any where all that is different is the style in which it is done. Many contributary factors play parts in a good course or whether the quarry is taken or runs on for another day, Over a running career a worked dog will run on most types of land and different crops that is all part of what produces a capable dog or not, A skilled dog will adapt its running style and make what ever adjustments it needs to to try for its ultimate goal, which is to apprehend its quarry. Ground and weather conditions play their part just as putting a fit healthy injury free dog does ,its whe -
the dog finds it more interesting to investigate things around it , salukis and x,s especially find anything on the move iresistable, I have one that as a young dog used to race with every jogger or mountain biker it saw it would see a dot on the horizon and be gone, but it always came back , if you let it have a mad 15 minutes in a safe place then go for a walk and let it follow and come to you if for example every time you call the dog you want it on the lead and either into the car or home its obvious the dog will be reluctant to play the game so vary your modus operandi so the dog gets u
