  1. Height about 23-25", the dog in the first pic I think is a long haired whippet and these ones I photographed are Silkens as you say different breeds.
  2. Sorry Chid21 your right, pics of Silken and the last one a Borzoi.
  3. Before anyone asks how afghans used to course have a look at this thread the dogs in the pics look nothing like the Afghans of today. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/216960-afghan-hounds-coursing/page-2
  4. Can't stand Afghans myself, don't know how they ever ran a course, but the Silkens looked as thou they had the go in them.
  5. The first Greyhound race event takes place at the new Towcester Racecourse this Saturday 6th December meeting starts at 18.00 free admission.
  6. What race meets would they be mate...? Venture hill sprint in lopcombe corner Salisbury, seen them there racing, think I've got some pics on my camera of them racing, I'll have a look later.
  7. Here's something along those lines, it's a x whippet Afghan, called a silken wind hound, I've seen them race but never on the back of something running, they looked fast slightly bigger than a whippet in size but would be interesting to see how they would work. It says rare American breed in wiki but I've seen plenty at a race meet over here so somebody is breeding them here. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silken_Windhound
  8. Interesting read, just for info my Nuttal Wheeler is ok to work with any dogs, does not look for trouble with pushy dogs, I can take him in the beating line with spaniels and Labs and he gets on well, he mainly just focuses on the job in hand.
  9. My other whippet. http://thewhippetarchives.net/details.php?id=160270
  10. Her ped. http://thewhippetarchives.net/details.php?id=119012
  11. As Gaffer says, open a photo bucket account and upload your photos to it, when done open the pic you want to post in photo bucket and copy the IMG code then open up your post and paste that code in it, and when you post you comment your picture will be in it.
  12. There a rare British breed now, I can see why, I won't have another had this one for 12 years and it's the most stubborn thing I've ever had, he will do a little bushing when he feels like it, I have seen some posts on Internet that there are some working in US but there more popular over there.
  13. I was, joking of course, his head is as wide as it is long.
  14. Both parents choc smooth coated, dame nutal line sire wheeler.
  15. He's in good nik mate, looks like a yearling.
  16. Looks a young dog, how old mate, in great condition though.
  17. i like mine to run thru everything just in case, but as they get older an you've seen them miss cover an you've put them in an nothin was in there you start trusting the dog an just letting it work If other dogs (runners) are too far forward the Busher can miss game just trying to keep up, thinking it's missing out, keep your runners close and let the Busher lead the pace of the drive/ walk/ mooch.
  18. Seen couple of foxes and hares in the maze, there is a chicken farm two fields away free range, the fields a littered with dead chicken carcasses where foxes have helped themselves,
