  1. If it's docked it has to be chipped aswell, as the cert could apply to any dog.
  2. Rabbit numbers around me have fallen which has had an effect on my ferreting where sometimes we come back with nothing, having a terrier bushing has added something new and we have had more success bushing than ferreting, it's my little terriers first season he's 11 months now and my runners have taken to him like a dream, can't wait for bunny numbers to recover.
  3. I go beating with my patt, he bushes for runners aswell, works well with ferrets. Only ever met afew Bedwhips but never worked with one so can't comment on their ability, best of luck mate.
  4. This is now my pup from the start of this thread but still only 11 months old.
  5. Went through about 5 pairs of cheap boots all leaked and split now I've brought a pair of those Mendle boots and touch wood so far they are great feet are dry for a change, expensive but good.
  6. Just had tax code sent through for April 2014 to April 2015 and because we have now been putting our nat insurance no for payment of £20 for beating the tax man listed the estate as a second income and has taken £2500 of of my tax free allowance, has anyone else had this happen to them yet.
  7. Like the look of yer dog mate, similar to mine.
  8. Here's my lad I take Beating, holds his own in the line, works thick blackthorn well to the point the keeper make me go through the thickest bit of the drive.
  9. I have a terrier that I take beating, he is the only terrier out of about 20 dogs on a small shoot, mostly choc labs as pickers with some cockers and the rest ESS in the beating line, luckily for me the keeper is aware of what he can do, doesn't miss sitters and is stubborn when on a line, but as a cover dog the keeper loves him which unfortunately for me means we get the thickest route through, he works well with the spaniels and is ok at beating, but hes best on his own with the two runners flanking him waiting for his signal, I can then give him free rein to go where his nose takes him, thi
  10. What's the history on the Spartacus line, just never heard of it before.
  11. I'm sure I've see this pic before and it looks even better the second time around. The dogs are in great condition and are a credit to you Your right it was posted October time on a thread about your teams for this season.
  12. nice pack how are the whipps bred? I have 3 whippet lurchers mother and two 6mth old pups off her .a border terrier and a black lab not much gets missed by my pack lol Black whippet is Coursing lines, fawn whippet is racing sire coursing dam, fawn whippet is quicker but can't turn like the pure coursing bred whippet, both whippets 18"tts and 20lb perfect for bunnies.
  13. This is him with the runners.
  14. Yea looks like an earth dog but much too big, he's about the size of a small staffie
  15. Digging not my forte either, when I'm ferreting anything over 3' is a cup of tea and wait abit more, only one other thought is damage to the end of his ears when bushing the thorns, does anyone else's dog have this problem, should I try and protect them or will they toughen up.
  16. Here's my lad now at only 9 months now, bought him as a patterdale but has grown to about 16" tall now and weighs a ton, I started by encouraging the traits I wanted with treats and not treating the behaviour I didn't want, I take him beating on a local shoot, the keeper likes him and gives us the blackthorn to work with the springers, can work him with any dog he is not aggressive as he is more interested in working, he's been my first bushing dog and even at this young age my two whippets have seen a lot more game and now wait outside where he is working for his alarm call, although to big f
  17. Hi Derek I'm on your doorstep, I'll come out on the Sundays I'm not working if you want some company, Regards Bryan.
  18. Exactly mate! that's what I meant when I said whippet grey . Definitely mention in whipbed. they can look very whippety too Seen some non peds used as working and always got the impression they were too fast and always overshoot their prey, also can be prone to injury as there much faster than a whippet.
  19. Go for a working (which are larger) or coursing line, stay away from anything with racing lines as they are closely bred and have very light bone density for speed, coursing line would be they way if I was you, small size, massive prey drive good stamina good in the turn, would make a great rabbiting dog, skin should be ok as you already have the terrier for bushing it just depends how your dog will hit cover on the back of something and your not going to know that until you work your dog, good luck.
  20. Found some info, hope it helps. http://www.scvetspecialists.co.uk/images/contentimages/Mydogiscollapsing.pdf
  21. How much Bull is in her, is it like this. yes but a different colour. lol saxongypsy3.jpg she is exremely well built a very powerfull and agile bitch. the pic there for you to compare. Very nice Cleanspade, very muscular and broad, think there is enough bull in these terriers now as we may start moving away from what size we expect a working terrier to be, as I've found.
  22. How much Bull is in her, is it like this.
