Always one isnt there!

With permission from the owner of the sheep go and buy an extendable lead. The longest one you can get. The dog has enough freedom to show its true intentions and you still have control. ANY sign of wanting to chase or attack you need to get in there and correct it. ANY sign of not being interested in the sheep you need to reward the good behaviour with praise and a treat.

I would rather those percentages the other way round myself. I run a border collie x greyhound x bierdy collie x greyhound. Hes a f*****g good dog and hese fed me a few times when i needed it. Every x has its knockers and every x has its devotees. If i could go back in time to when i was offered mine as a pup i would still say yes. Yes he has stalked in to rabbits on the lamp before but so what? He still catches them. Im interested in results, and my full belly and freezer is the result i want. 5/8 in faver of the collie wouldnt be MY choice, i think it wouldnt be fast enough or agile enough.

Jim as soon as she has had her jabs put her on the floor and do what you want. If you want to go ferreting then go ferreting. If you want to go longnetting then go longnetting. If you want to go ferreting to longnets then go ferreting to longnets! Lol! Its what she is going to be doing, the sooner she gets to see what a longnet and purse net are the better. That way she wont be getting tangled up in them or f*****g about when its serious. The sooner she sees ferrets and gets broken to them the better. That way she wont be trying to kill them when you ARE ferreting. The sooner she learns to kee

Iv got a load! Some are just little regrets some are f*****g HUGE ones! Sacrificing the love of my life cos i didnt know she felt the same way for a 1 night stand that just wouldnt leave me alone for months afterwards and the moment passed by the time i had got rid of her. Thats a big one. I regret that everyday. Acting the clown in school. Going from one kak job to the next with the occaisional spell of unemployment. Some things cant be helped so cant be regretted but the recessions f****d me up royley and as a result another spell of unemployment and now living in a caravan on a mates drive

If you get REALLY kinky you could even lick it out! Lol! On a serious note, if you cant find a snipped hob i would consider putting her back in with the unsnipped hob. It will get her out of season which will stop any infections getting in. And its unlikely she will fall pregnant this time of year anyway.

When I was a kid 3 of us put a tenner in the kitty each and bought a derelict caravan, the rivets were popping out of the walls, door was almost dropping off etc We took it to London and parked up on grenade street in Limehouse, right opposite the cop-shop and under the DLR if anyone knows the area,we stayed there for 18 months, built a dog run on the side of the caravan(true story)for the three lurchers, one of us being not as honest as the other two wired the caravan up to the street lights for electricity, once we tired of the street so moved a hundred yards away to rich street, didnt have a h

A puppy that isnt eating is a serious thing, iv never known a healthy puppy not eat well! Any healthy puppy will just eat and eat and eat untill it looks like a balloon then have a shit and carry on eating! I suggest you make sure it has water as an absolute minimum pref with some salt (proper sea salt not that sodium shit) and some sugar. That will at least keep it alive for the time being. It needs worming ASAP too and try to get it eating, for now give it what its used to. If that is raw chicken and mince then give it raw chicken and mince. Wouldnt be a bad diet anyway actually. Keep an eye

If his aggression is fear based you being "dominant" will only make things worse. You need to take him out by himself and watch very closely his body language. You will soon see if he is attacking out of pure nastiness or out of fear. Either way, the way to meet new dogs is nose to arse NOT nose to nose. Nose to nose is saying "im the boss back down or im going kick your f*****g head in" in dog. Nose to arse is "i want to get to know you and be friends, shall we go and find some rabbits to chase?". If he shows no aggression when he is by himself it could be that he is acting as protector to th

Iv kept ferrets a long time. As a kid i remember a fox got into my dads pigeon shed and killed nearly all of his pigeons. A practical sort of bloke my dad decided that rather than waste the dead pigeons he would let me have them for my ferrets. Might as well really, they were dead anyway, better than wasting um. Well i bagged them up 7 to a bag and was planning on getting a bag out the freezer every monday as the weeks ferret food. It wasnt long before the ferrets started getting ill (including 2 litters of cracking kits) and dying. Off to the vets and a diagnosis of distemper. The vet said th

Burns or beta mate -
If you have the plastic reflector get the 50 watt bulb. Thats what i use and i find its more than good enough unless im on massive fields. If you get the 100 watt thats 2 million candles and its to hot for the plastic reflector. Google arthur carter urad and see what theyve got in. Personally i dont like the 2 million candles one, its not that much brighter but it murders the battery in no time!

Garath re read whats already been said mate. Forget about work for now, just be friends with that dog. Build the bond. f**k everything else! Iv got a saluki x myself and my god she can be a proper little madam when she wants to be! Lol! Mine is 9 months old now and iv had 9 months of frustration and anger, everytime and i MEAN EVERYTIME its time to end the days walk she kept out the way so i couldnt get a lead on her or get her in the car. As has been said its a good job i didnt have a gun with me on those walks cos im certain i would of shot her as the only way i was ever going to get near en

Another time i had arranged with a mate to meet over a certain place in the new forest for a few hours illicit ferreting! Lol! Well as i was driving up the road towards the carpark i had never seen so many new forest keepers, agisters and rangers in one place before in my life! Turned out they was doing a "drift" (where they round up all the new forest ponies for check ups etc). As i pulled up next to his car he said "might be best to try somewhere else"! "I think you could be right mate" i said! Lol! -

Setting the scene here: i use a motorbike battery wired straight to the lamp. Back in those days i just wrapped the bare wire around the terminal on the battery and then wrapped a load of insulation tape round it. I remember i had done a full 15 hours taxi driving and i was knackered but it was a perfect night for a bunny or two so i after work went home, grabbed the lamp and the dog and set off for a bit of ground i knew i would find a few bunnies. Half hour later we arrive. Out the car, wellies on, lamp over shoulder, dog out, slip lead on and quietly tiptoe over to the gate. Gingerly p -

Last season i was out with my little beddy whippet and found a nice rabbit sat out so i lit it up, made sure he had seen it, slipped him and hissed "go on boy". Off he went and when he was half way there the rabbit gets up, darts past him and heads straight for me (i made sure i was between it and its bury) dog in hot pursuit. I tried shaking the light to put that rabbit off course, i tried shouting but it wouldnt change direction. Some of um know exactly where home is and wont let anything put them off dont they! As it reached me i swung my left foot at it to slow it down and milliseconds lat -
Heres another few of her

She IS making progress, in fact iv only had her a week so really shes doing well. On her first day she nearly took a ferrets head off the moment she saw it! Lol! Now iv at least got her to the point where i can leave her in the garden with the ferrets cages and she will just sniff about the garden. She does sometimes sniff about the cage too and does sometimes try to snap at the ferrets through the mesh and i guarantee she would kill them if i treated her like a lurcher round a rabbit warren! I have a beagle x jack russel that i got as a rescue and he was a twat at first with them. His turning

Yes i will do mate. I can still use her when im ferreting, just have to keep her on slip same as if we were lamping. Also i can still mooch with her and lamp with her. I got her for keeps anyway as i do any dog i get and even without ferreting i have plenty of work for her.
