  11. not wanting to sound like a killjoy mate, but like ditch says, untill you can group ya shots, DONT shoot live quarry, as your saying yourself you dont like injuring the bunnies, gets us a bad name if peeps start discovering loadsa live injured bunnies staggering about the shakes can be down to lots of things, pumping adrenalin for one, if after practising your still shaking/moving, get ya self a bi-pod, you'll be amazed at the difference it makes

  15. you say you already have a sling attached to the rifle, in which case the bi-pod will attach to that stud and is fitted with another sling attachment just under the bipod, yup harris are the best and go for the medium size one, have one fitted to my AAs410 TDR and it makes bunnie hitting so steady :thumbs-up:

    biting

dunno if it will work for others, but in the past, if a fert ever tried to bite, Id push my finger further into their mouth, back of the tongue so they gag, soon learn that fingers aint for biting
  18. Im no expert at these, but the way I see it is this, the mk1 as an older model worked very much like a metal detector, picking up the signal from the collar(either 8ft or 15ft) then it has a simple wheel control with depth's marked and on turning down, gives you a read out of depth of ferret, very simple design, simple to use, and simply made thus less bits to go wrong now I only know what Ive read on the mk3, but it seems it has 2 switch setters, the first a search/locate mode, then a depth mode, this seems to me, to be the bit causing most confussion with people using the wrong mode

    Ferret

I'd say, first thing is go get a book on ferrets, it'll answer all your questions and more "PETS AT HOME" do a brand of ferret food, around a fiver for two ferts will last around 3/4 weeks, a raw egg and milk as a treat now and again, and any rabbit/wood pigeon/pheasant you can get, I personnaly would'ent give my ferts rats or feral pigeon for the amount of disease they carry, but thats upto you, another jill will be good company, but when they come into heat, its best to get them out of it as soon as possible as a swollen rear end is a good entry point for infection to get in, and they can d
  24. having kept and bred budgerigars for many years, the idea of having youngsters in the nest box when theres snow outside isi'nt a new one, as we used electric lights to fool the birds into thinking it was summer(longer days) thus giving us youngsters for the show season, so, how many of us now have electric running to our ferts courts, me for one, so its easy to imagine that we could be fooling them into thinking the longer days are here...get breeding
