  1. it wernt me that deleated it, BUT THIS AINT THE FOR SALE SECTION!!!!!! had it been me, you'd have recieved another warning,
  2. by all means, if she's really getting a bad neck, then split them up until she's in season, as constant grabbing on the neck, will lead to infection, or if you have room in your cage/hutch you could add on the side, another box, drill cut through your hutch to make an entrance hole, but keep it at around 2" so that the jill can squeeze in, but the bigger hob cant, that gives her a place away from his advances, your jill may be staying down longer, because hobs and jills work differently, jills being fast and chasing the rabbits through the tunnels, hobs are better at shifting rabbits that
  3. cheers all I'll let you know how/if I get on
  4. used to play in a proper team bout ten years back, my mate got shot in the danglies, how we laughed as he hit the deck in agony (good mates) they blew up the size of a pineapple, he was off work for days, laying on bed with ice packs
  5. quote; Baby food is good, or miced rabbit. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD HOMES FOR ALL OF THEM baby food!!!!!! sorry mate, dont go rushing out to buy baby food, you'll give them the $hites, milk from the mother, and minced rabbit, you'll have no probs
  6. hi Igray, if your willing to buy the train tickets, throw in a weeks stay at a cottage, and ill bring you some, it'll save me forking out on a honeymoon
  7. the £1 ones, are "seconds" that need adjustment to the setting springs (wires) with the new ones costing around the £5 mark too, its just me being a tight arse
  8. hi all, after chatting to another member from here while ferreting, got onto the subject of "moles" now as a pestie working nights, I dont ever come across these, but the area that I live in is plagued my them, lots of big houses/nice gardens, colleges, schools etc, and when I found out how much is charged for catching moles, decieded its something I've got to get into on my private jobs. so even before we start discussing techniques etc, lets have the low down on traps, checking out a few net sites I've found the scissor type that everyone seems to be using at around £5 each, or duff
  9. or maybe theres more countryside up north, and more cities and housing down south
  10. as already answered, but will add, if you want to keep records of breeding, say for next years breeding, then split the jills up, I left my 2 jills together, and of course they act as midwifes to each other, one minute all the babies were together the next minute they were in seperate nest boxes, means you cant keep track on who's who, not so bad if they are sisters (jill mums) as all off spring are cousins, but if theres a particular trait you want to keep in the breeding record, then you'd need to split the jills maybe too technical for some to worry bout, prob just me
  11. I only ever buy Imported baccy
  12. if they are bouncing, then you have stretch the net too tight, next time give it loads more bag
  13. after this long, door knocking etc might not be enough, you'd be better off phoning all the animal rescue centres in your area, plus informing local police etc, alot of people are going to contact these services if the see/find a ferret in the garden etc
  14. dont know about the mk2, but im sure its cheaper than a mk1 which seems to hold there money really well, if its all you can afford, then as long as its working, bleeping over collars, check before buying, then id say go for it
  15. are you sure its a paid job?? someone can say "Ive a job for you" without meaning its a paid job, just dont get false hopes, it may be a freebie thats wanted
  16. if its genuine, look after it, it'll last ya a life time
  17. our jack russel gets on great with my ferts, simply get yourself some ferret malt paste from the pet shop, ferrets love it, so do dogs, with the ferret/s in cage, stick some on your finger, through the bars letting the ferts lick it off, then some to the pup, pretty soon you'll have the ferts one side of wire, pup the other both licking at same time, over a period of time, get the ferrets out of cage and do the paste again, our jack now loves the ferrets, as she knows when theres ferrets about, she'll either get the paste, or rabbit
  18. hi ya ollie, good on you for doing this the right way round, too many people get the ferret, and then start asking, most normal pet shops/e bay etc will supply most of the stuff you need for the care of your ferret/s try to get a pair rather than a single one, as they like the company of their own a large a hutch as possible, woodshavings, hay or straw for the sleeping compartment water bottle and feeding dish you'll get a lot of fors and against dry ferret food, I always keep a bag in the shed for emergancy, like if I forget to take a rabbit out of the freezer as for your ferreti
  19. dont rush to pick her up when she appears at a hole, a few of mine will bolt back down if you try to grab them, think they must know the funs going to end, back in the box, I just let my jills get on with it, if they appear at a hole, 9 times outta 10 they will walk to the next and go back down, doing their job, if they start walking away from the holes, thats when they get picked up no fuss
  20. fraid not bigred, have kept it all this time, may as well keep it a bit more, another 30yrs an I'll be old
  21. I'd suggest a pet shop, you can get flat nylon collars, take the finder with you (if its mk3) to make sure it will fit
  22. I doubt it very much mate, unless its one of magwich's micro ferrets
  23. hi bigred, as for models and prices, I have no idea, I got interested in detecting bout 8yrs back, thinking I would be a millionaire by now and went out and bought a super duper one that cost around £550, joined a metal detecting club in essex, went out my first time and found a silver coin with some "king henry" on it, worked out it was around 650yrs old, it wasent a1 condition, and I put it somewhere safe (cant find it now ) and then lost interest in the whole thing, but out of all the bits that have come and gone my way, the metal detector was the one thing I never sold on, always thou
  24. so bigred, you want me to come over with the metal detector then
