i dont know how others have found it but i know when i asked for the first time i was lucky enough to get a reply of yes straight away. now i didnt direclty ask for shooting permission, i asked could i train my spaniel on his land, and told him i wanted to give my dog a couple of flushes and chases on rabbits to get him hunting hard, and from there it went to we got loadsa rats, and rabbits, oh an a few pigeon etc etc,,, so i think it all depends on how you aproach the landowner..... i think it helps if you click straight away ??? Baz think baz86 has a good way of gaining permis

firstly, molecatchers are the mutts nutts, but, if you wanna make your own (cheap), heres how I did it, buy 2 cheap rod rest's from the takle shop, cost 99p each cut the rod rest bit off i then bent in a vice a oblong ish handle with 8" of spike, a bit of old hose pipe, slit down centre and a hole for the spike, then slipped over the joins on the square, taped in place with electrical tape (stops net catching on it) and finished, the oblong handle works great as the net cant pass over it, plus gives you a large handle when picking up, or pushing into earth

dont worry, under 16yrs aint gonna start getting banned, your right, why should a few spoil it for everyone anyone of any age is more than welcome on the forum, the hunting bug can come to you at any time/age of your life, but thats what us moderators are here for, to try and sort out the good from the bad most newbies on here ask sensible questions from the start, makes it easy for us, to keep an eye on the nutters or those telling porky pies and as long as the forum rules at top of page are read and kept too, then everyones happy

was a great day out, nice to meet you richie, as always it was a great days ferreting, barring the last hour that saw me fretting, as my 2 jills were nowhere to be seen on a hedgerow we had netted with the longnets, a few false digs and we knew there were babies down there, as magwith's ferret had trotted out with one in her mouth, like a dog with a bone, all ended well though as pat suggested one of mine, might have gone further up the hedgerow than expected, sure enough, a quick scan with the mk3 led us to her, at the same time that richie picked up my other jill, was dreading having to go w

well I sent hunter12 a pm, stating the above, and recieved this in return hi hunter12 or should I call you connor, funny you say you live in different places, but your both on the same IP number (same computer) can you give me a reason not to bar you from posting anymore? thats my mate messing about i told him to stop but he said no but i said the people on her are respectfull like your self crawling reply or what, as of now, I have increased his warning level and set moderator options on his future posts
-
lets look at it this way, a bit of detective work through the moderator options, shows we have 3 names all using the same IP address connor, ferretmc and of course hunter12 now say we had all fell for the first post, and got in touch with either or all, that one person would have quite a good supply of ferreting gear arriving on his doorstep do we really want these types in the ferreting section
-
yup, thats down to me again, Ive put the moderator preview on all his posts, he firstly started slagging off the forum, then twice warned, then starts trying to put up posts that were silly, and Im just about fed up with all these newbies on a "give me it for free" post, specialy after the above post quote, tells us he's got the gear, maybe he just wanted it for e bay stock

Why not a silver. lets not go down that road again do a search on silvers, everyone has different opinion
-
twas thinking the same myself sue, although others think we should encourage them, seems they want, without making the effort to input anything first like everyone on here, we have bits and pieces laying about in the shed, which I'd glady give to a new person, if I had saw they had made an effort on here first, but theres no way any of these new ones lately will see it

colours got nowt to do with it, just fine a good hob, prefebaly not a silver
-
hi mate and welcome to the forum, since no one else has told you, in future, turn the caps lock off, it's classed as shouting and rude

stubby replied to will98's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
yet another new member, its nice all these people that want to start hunting, I mean, they cant take the time, to fill in their profile, or tell us a bit about themselves or anything, but they jump straight in, with the want, want, want posts, even trying to get it for free its a wonder why there arnt hundreds of replies, offering the lad everything -
i thought hunter12 was your new best mate stubbs? you're on his friends list! think the offer was too quick, and as for me on his friends list
-
for christ's sake, what is it with these newbie's, dont they look at the dates and think, wondered why I had a pm from another person, saying great looking kitts, any left rather than deleate this post (which I will do friday eve) leaving it up at mo, so any plonkers pm'ing me or adding to this, asking for kitts, will know, they are PLONKERS!!!!!

probably a bit to far for you to travel, but I could do you 8 x 4 x 2" gal mesh sheets, as many as ya want
-
I think it might just be cat biscuits. Always remember someone on another forum saying that their ferret would only eat nuts and not touch meat. I was horrified until they explained that they meant dry ferret food well i did wonder if it was cat balls at the moment im feeding mine dry foor but just wondering if there is a make called james welbeloved dry food but i donnt no if its better then chuddleys hunter, if your already feeding them dry, why change it for another dry feed

welcome mate, your more than welcome on the ferreting section, dont worry about the bad spelling, just no text talking
-
yes mate, deffo fishy, think its the school holidays I normally spend a couple of hours a day on here, today its gotta be 6+ got my eye on 3 or 4 newbies that dont sound right
-
funny, he just told me his ferret died
-
what is it with this week, so many newbies asking for ferrets spuds, Im a little worried and confused, apart from not filling in your profile, when I look at your post's, I see 2 posts on different days, one says "heres a picture of my dog" the second says "heres my friends dog", yet it the same picture another post is you asking to swap YOUR dog for 3 pups do you want a ferret for yourself, or a friend seems lots of young people joining lately, that dont want to inject any input into the forum with explanations on themselves, but go straight to the want, want, want
-
have to say hunter12, your still coming across, not quite right your saying you already have 11 or 12 ferrets yet still want more why!!!!!! 2 Is enough to catch rabbits 11 or 12 and you dont already own something to transport them in go out with the member that has given you the benefit of the doubt, and take things slowly members on this section, care about there ferrets, even those they are selling/giving on, you have to agree that things dont sound right, with you keep asking for more....
