    ferret

what are you feeding them on at the moment most on here will say RABBIT but in the past I've used chicken from the supermarket, worked out around £1.50 a day, but if you have 11, I'd say £2.00 some feed dry ferret food, as an alternative, but rabbit has got to be best
  3. the more secure you make it, the better, if you only do a min amount they might just tell you to do it all, so save the hassel, and fix it floor and wall, looks better on you then
  4. you'll all see I've deleated the mink post, yes it was funny to start with, but it was getting into a lynch mob type topic, and hunter12 was digging himself a bigger hole he pm'd me appologising for things that happened yesterday, which I think takes alot for a young lad to admit nowdays a lot of young ones would'ent, they would just go elsewhere or keep bad mouthing so can we give him a second chance, answer or help with any questions he has, cheers all
  5. sick of cleaning hutches, so swopping for a court= much more cleaning, your ferts are still going to leave as much muck, just your have a bigger area, so it wont look as bad, but it will still need the same amount of cleaning, if not more I'm happy to do "more" cleaning I would just like to make it easier to do. Im sure scooping out couple of corners of muck once a day, and a proper clean when it needs it, in a nice big shed that i can easily get into will be quicker and easier, for me, than scooping shite out of seemingly every corner of a hutch on my knees, and trying to wash them out
  6. yer man holding that fox looks like a bald queer id say your a bald queer as well yup, and just for that buckyboy, you have got a warning increase, and all future post's have to go by me first knew this would be a bad week, as kids are off school
  7. why did'nt you accept the £75 offer that someone made, as a collar at £40 would bump the total price upto £115, for a secondhand unit, mk3's can be picked up on the bay of e for around £140 new, only asking like
  8. in answer to your questions, yes a vasectamised hob and jill can live together all the time no, 2 jills in season should'ent fight, but they will stay in season, until brought out of it, either with a intact hob a vasectamised hob jill jab from vets so I'd say, go with the hob and jill option

  10. I like your explanation better, Ditch
  11. stubbys i think u are a bit to big headed and I think your getting a warning on your first day on here hunter12, keep it up,
  12. try to find either a member from here, or even a rescue centre first, go and view and have a sniff, you have done the right thing in asking first, before rushing out and buying one, or two (better kept in pairs) either search through the pages here, or visit the libary and get some books to read on ferret keeping, hopefully you'll be a bit better prepaired in a couple of months or so, when breeders have got kitts to get rid off, that would also give you time to get a hutch/court sorted out, should you deciede to get some read all you can on ferrets in breeding season, as some people find thi
  13. whin, why has it got to be "your way" or the highway its obvious lily ferret keep's ferts as pets, there's nothing wrong with that, or should we kill all ferrets and dogs that "dont make the mark" that sort of thing would really give the anti's some ammunition against us note to lily ferret; welcome to the forum, if you fill out your profile with a location, rather than just uk, you may find people in your area mighten you? not just ferreters, but ferret keepers too
  14. true kay, I think too many people, leave it upto the vet, as his "job" is looked upon as knowledgable, I made certain, that I checked the vet out first, had experience doing op's on ferts, and on more than one occassion, made them realise is was vasectamising and not castration (sorry to hijack your topic dowen)
  15. hi kay, good Idea Ive removed the posts that seemed to be hijacking your topic and pm'd him pm me your e mail addy, Ive found a couple of short video's that wont take up to much space, but can also send you the ones of inside the court if you want
  16. bloody hell mate, I'd definatly be looking for compensation, at the time of booking did you tell them, vasectamised or the snip?, if so I'd be there hammering on the door, work out a deal at least, where they do the "snip" for free, otherwise you'll get onto the local paper as for your hob now, I have a castrated hob in the court, we his 2 x vasectamised sons, plus a fully intact outcross, yup, they do try the mating with each other (randy sods) as the 5 jills are not yet in season, but fighting,no
  17. your hobs will still sniff around and try to mate a jill that aint in season, lift them up and look, the picture below shows them in season...
  18. ok mate, maybe I read it wrong, but not a reason to give me the finger Icon
  19. do a search for posts by ditch shitter, he put up a link to a downloadable programe, that you then put your pictures into, and it converts them into computer friendly ones, correct size and everything
  20. so wanna rack you cider makers brains, apart from apples, what equipment would I need to try and make cider, theres a shop in town, selling kits, plus loads of bits and bobs, not wanting to buy stuff that aint nessessary cheers
  21. left it a bit late, most breeders wont have young for a few months yet mate, and if you get some, you'll have to wait till later in the year why is that stubby still lpenty of time yet to do a bit i wont stop till the end of april if he gets youngsters, he would have to wait a while
  22. all animals are Inividuals mate, you need to keep and eye on yours, and see how they react, someone could have hob and jills that live together without a hitch, you do the same, and have world war two on your hands, once your hob is snipped and as kay suggests, a couple of months down the line, introduce them, if your jills are in season, he'll bring them out of it, then sit back and watch, only you can see how they are doing with each other many years ago, I took the advice that ALL jills and hobs would live fine together, so Intrduced a hob to my 3 jill court, they are him
